Soledad "Chole" Shultz |
Soledad "Chole" Shultz, age 84, of Odessa,
passed away in Odessa on Saturday, September 28, 2019.
She was born January 6, 1935 in Monahans, TX to the late
Moises and Maria (Padilla) Banegas.
Chole loved flowers, with roses being her
favorite. She was
always on the go and loved to visit family and friends.
She and her late husband Bill enjoyed dancing together to
any kind of music. Soledad was preceded in death by her parents,
her husband: Billie D. Shultz; and her brothers:
Jesus P. Banegas and Ralph Banegas. She leaves behind and will be greatly missed by
her sister: Raquel
Ortega of El Paso, TX and her niece:
Sandra Burke and husband Warren of Odessa. No services will be held at this time.

Mary Lee Smith |
Mary Lee Smith, age 94, of Odessa, passed from
this life Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born July 4, 1925 in
Fort Stockton, TX to Mabel and Benjamin Harrison Ryan. Mary married the love of her life, Horace over
45 years ago. She was the greatest cook and her specialty was
Turkey and dressing. She loved to sew and read books and
newspapers. Mary was “old school” in the sense of writing letters
and keeping newspaper clippings and calligraphy. She was a great
mom and grandmother, and was always checking in to make sure
everyone was always good. Mary loved animals, dogs especially, and
her beloved Coco. Those left to cherish her love and memory are
her son: Mark Smith and wife Sharon; daughter: Jean Mansell;
sisters: Elizabeth Brown and Lucielle Holbrook; grandchildren: Ryan
Smith, Chris Smith, Berry Mansell, Melissa Mansell, Lyn Mansell and
Roy Mansell; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles,
cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband: Horace
R. Smith; parents and grandparents. A viewing will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. The family
will be present to greet guests from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements

Juan Jimenez |
Juan Jimenez, age 58 of Seminole, passed from
this life Monday, September 30, 2019. He was born Monday, November
7, 1960 in Three Rivers, TX to Adan and Angelita Jimenez. Those left to cherish his love and memory are his
sons: John Ray, Christopher Adam and Brian Jimenez; daughters:
Brittany and Camille Aguirre; brothers: David, Mario and Paul
Jimenez and Wilfredo Saldana; sisters: Otilia Jimenez, Angie
Ontiveros, Nancy Tarango and Elaine Saldana; and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Juan Gabriel Muro |
Juan Gabriel Muro, age 42 of Odessa, passed away
Monday, September 30, 2019. He was born Wednesday, April 20, 1977
in Morton, TX to Otilia and Gabriel Muro. He and the love of his
life, Elizabeth, were together almost 20 years. Juan was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a
great husband, father, brother, friend and best friend to his
children. He recently fell in love with fishing and was proud of
his catch. Juan was a very funny jokester, who would always use his
humor to lighten the mood.
He was very outgoing and hard working. Juan never took his
life for granted and he will never be forgotten. Those left to cherish his love and memory are
his wife: Elizabeth Rodriguez Muro; sons: Anthony and Dominique
Muro; daughters: Marisol and Brianna Muro; father: Gabriel Muro and
wife Sylvia; brothers: Carlos, Rodrigo, Jesus and wife Noemi,
Manuel and Omar and wife Maria) Muro; sisters: Mary Jean Torres and
husband Ricardo, Mirna Muro, Angelica Perez and husband Maclen, and
Gabriella Rojo and husband Julian; and numerous uncles, aunts,
cousins, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother: Otilia
Muro; brother: Robert Muro; grandparents: Viviano and Carmen Muro;
and grandmother-in-law: Rosa Bernal. Visitation will begin 8:00 am Saturday, October
5, 2019 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be recited at
7:00 pm on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Acres West. Funeral services will be 1:00
pm Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Latter Rain Worship Center with interment to
follow at the Odessa II Gardens section of the Ector County

Richard Stephen Ortiz |
Richard Stephen Ortiz known as "Papa Guero"
age 48, of Odessa,Tx passed away unexpectedly in San Antonio, TX on
Monday, September 30, 2019. He was born in Odessa,Tx on Thursday,
December 17, 1970. Richard was very outgoing and always made everyone laugh. He was a good listener, who had a positive influence on everyone he met. Richard's cooking was legendary he made the best steaks. He loved to draw and listen to great rock and roll music. He enjoyed life and was free spirited. Richard was the best father and grandfather, his family meant everything to him. He leaves to cherish his memory his son: Damien Stephen Ortiz; two daughters: Amanda Rincon and Olivia White; brother: Anthony Ortiz; sister: Yvette Martinez; eight beloved grandchildren: Nyra, Bella, Zoe, Xaien, Aizen, Eliseo, Daisy, and Ezrik; and numerous extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Betty Ann Ybarra Ortiz, Arthur Flores Ortiz and his brother: Raymond Ortiz. Virgil Roy Chandler |
Virgil “Roy”
Chandler, 71, was born April 18, 1948 in Eastland, TX. He was a
resident of San Antonio, TX. He stepped in to his eternal life with
the Lord after a long struggle on September 30, 2019 in San
Antonio. Roy was a kind and loving man who loved his
son’s family dearly. He loved sci-fi, keeping his hummingbird
feeders full, painting, art shows, and watching Game of Thrones and
Downton Abby. He loved the singing group Celtic Women. Roy was
smart with computers and was a carpenter and could build anything,
starting with tables and cabinets. He was a great breakfast cook. He is preceded in death by his wife: "Mary"
Bernadette Land; father: Roy “Don” Chandler; mother: Della Fay
Galloway; step-mother: Virgie “Bernice” Clary; sister: "Brenda" Kay
Kenney Byrch; and brother: George Edward ”Eddie” Chandler. He is survived by his sons: Darrell “Greg”
Chandler and Aaron Chandler Moore; granddaughters: Amy Amador and
Cecilia Cuevas; brothers: Douglas Jacob and wife Debbie and Cole
Chandler; sisters: Glenda Parshall and husband Ted, Linda Edwards,
Barbara Nance; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy will be laid to rest in Double Mountain
Cemetery in Peacock, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West

Barbara Ann Wilson, age 59, of Odessa, passed
away at Odessa Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, October 2,
2019. She was born in
Monahans, TX on January 24, 1960 to Bill and Jaunita Ann (Henry)
Baldree. Barbara was a real estate agent. Survivors include her husband:
Harold Wilson; her parents:
Bill and Jaunita Baldree; three sons:
Christopher Slate, Shawn Slate and Trey Wilson; daughters:
Holly Patton, Tiffany Wilson and Tabatha Wilson; maternal
grandmother: Jaunita
Gallander; brothers:
Walter Baldree and Michael Baldree; 19 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild. Memorial services will be at University Park
Fellowship, 8650 N. Golder, Odessa, TX at 11:00 am on Monday,
October 7, 2019.
Family and friends will fellowship and enjoy a meal together after
services. |

Julia Anne Phinney |
Julia Anne Phinney, age 60, of Odessa, passed
from this life Friday, October 4, 2019 at her residence. She was
born Monday, March 2, 1959 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada to the late
Margaret Achison and Ernie Phinney. Julia was a registered nurse at Medical Center
Hospital in Odessa for over 22 years. She was exceptional at
gardening and she always enjoyed working on her yard.
Julia will be missed by all. Those left to cherish her love and memory are
her husband: Robert Ferguson; 3 brothers; and 1 sister. She is preceded in death by her parents and two
brothers. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Eric Wayne Jackson |
Eric Wayne Jackson, age 50, of Odessa, passed
from this life Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Medical Center
Hospital. He was born Tuesday, July 29, 1969 in Odessa, TX to James
Marvin and Nina Pauline Jackson. Eric was a rodeo, NASCAR, and football fan. He
worked as a diesel mechanic and was a jack-of-all trade. Eric loved
watching movies and had a weakness for sweets. Those left to cherish his love and memory are
his son: Trinity Jackson and wife Anita of Odessa; brother: Calvin
Jackson and wife Sherry of Odessa; sister: René Gardner and husband
Jack of Odessa; and nephews: Blake Jackson and Tyler Gardner. He is preceded in death by his parents and one
brother: Marvin Jackson. Services will be held at a later date.

Armando Brito |
Armando Brito, age 94, of Odessa, passed from
this life Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born
Friday, January 9, 1925 in Presidio, TX to the late Francisco and
Paula (Estrada) Brito. Armando
was a rancher, who loved his boots and his horses. Armando was married to the love of his life
Maria for over 69 years and they built a legacy together. He was an
excellent husband, father, and grandfather. Family always came
first and he and Maria raised nine children. He thoroughly enjoyed
time spent with his family, especially if it was spiced up with
live music. Armando loved food, especially fish and shrimp, and
couldn't do without his coffee. Those left to cherish his love and memories are
his wife: Maria Gallegos Brito; sons: Armando Brito, Jr. and Hervey
Brito; daughters: Enedina Dominguez, Hortencia Jasso, Francisca
Arias, Araceli Lara, Yolanda DeAnda, Irma Leyva and Mary Tavarez;
and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Paula
and Francisco Brito; and all of his siblings:
Alicia Hernandez, Moises Brito, Trinidad Hernandez and
Alberto Brito. Viewing will begin Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at
Acres West Funeral Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Puliquez, MX.

Nelson Ray Talkmitt |
Nelson Ray Talkmitt, 65, left this earth to be
in the loving arms of his Savior Monday, October 7, 2019. He was
born July 31, 1954 to Byron and Laura Talkmitt. He worked in
Lubbock many years before he moved to Odessa, where he then worked
at Mahone’s Auto Service, Agri-Empresa, and then LL Industrial
Transmission. After retirement, he moved back to Lubbock to be
closer to his sons and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and
brother in law: Charlie Bates. Those left to cherish his love and memory are
his sons: Michael (Marie), and Devin (Kelly); grandchildren:
Mackenzie and twins Byron and Tatum; sisters: Margie Bates,
Charlene (Bill) Mahone, Linda (Roy) Sumruld; brother: Gerald
(Susan) Talkmitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Nelson was Lutheran. He loved card games,
dominoes and spending time with his family. He was especially close
to his mother. The family wants to sincerely thank the mother of
his children: Pansy Fox and her twin sister Patsy Fox for their
loving care in his last months as his health began to fail. Services will be held on Friday, October 18,
2019 at 10:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in Lamesa, TX with Pastor
David Rohde of Wilson officiating. |

Johnny “Popo” Garcia Regalado |
Johnny “Popo” Garcia Regalado, age 58, passed
from this life Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in Odessa, TX. He was born
Sunday, August 27, 1961 in O’Donnell, TX to Daniel Lopez and Alba
Garcia Regalado. Popo was a loving husband, father, a great older
brother, and a protector of the family. He loved working on cars.
Popo was always so kind hearted and was always smiling. He was a
big teddy bear who enjoyed talking and spending time with his
family. He and his sister Lorraine would spend every Friday at
BINGO. Those left to cherish his love and memory are
his wife of 38 years: Teri Regalado; daughter: Shauna Maria
Regalado; son: Jonathan Regalado and wife Amy; brother: Daniel
Regalado, Jr.; sister: Lorraine Wilson and husband Carl;
mother-in-law: Patty Turner; grandchildren: Tiffany, Matthew, and
Addison; niece: Allani; nephew: Bryan Wilson; and numerous family,
friends and his BINGO family at the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents. Viewing will be from 8:00 am to 10:00 am Friday,
October 11, 2019 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with funeral services
beginning at 11:00 am. Pastor Mark Roossinck is officiating.
