Charles (Chuck) Ellis Prentiss, age 70, born February 23, 1948, passed from this world on Sunday, February 17, 2019.

Charlie left from this life “The Cowboy Way”. He loved cowboy poetry, horses and a dog by his side.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Janet Prentiss; daughters (who referred to him as ‘Pops’): Patti Cagney, Staci Holt and Lacey Helkenburg.

Jimmy W. Henderson of Odessa, TX, age 72, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019. He was born Wednesday, February 5, 1947 in Leominster, Massachusetts to Theresa Salafieia and Wilson Henderson.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Elizabeth “Bea” Vaca; sons: Jimmy Henderson and wife Valerie, Joseph Henderson, Justin Henderson and wife Candace, and Jimmy Baca; mother: Theresa Hair; brother: Billy Henderson; and sisters: Theresa Abels, Elaine Glass, and Mildred Henderson.

He is preceded in death by father: Wilson Henderson; brother: Lloyd Henderson; and sister: Sheila Herara.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Shanda Bidlack; sons: Hayden Taylor, Francis Melvin Bidlack IV, and Xavier Dylan Bidlack; daughters: Ashlynn Taylor and Harley Quinn Bidlack; mother: Mary Bidlack; brother: Thomas Alexander Choate, Jr.; and sister: Di’Dammie Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Apolinar Marquez, age 91, passed from this life Friday, February 22, 2019 in Odessa, TX. He was born Thursday, July 21, 1927 in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua to Ricardo and Mary de Refugio Marquez.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Jesus Marquez, Margarito Marquez, Pablo Marquez and Francisco Marquez; daughters: Maria Hinojos and Manuela Alvarez; and numerous great and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by his parents; and wife: Eva Marquez.

A Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2019 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by interment at Peaceful Gardens section of the Ector County Cemetery.

Colene Smith, age 94, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 in Odessa, TX. She was born Saturday, December 27, 1924 in Warrior, Alabama to the late Hubert and Clarice Hughes Smith.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her son: J.D Cotton; daughters: Norma Jones, Ann Page, and Triva Williams; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren and twenty-five great great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son: Owen D. Cotton; daughter: Linda P. Hembree; grandchildren: James Dale Hembree, Dennis Page and Kimberly Lynn Glasscock; and great-grandchildren: David Page and Hunter Cody.

Viewing will begin at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Acres West. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Graveside Services are 11:00 am Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his grandchildren: Cruz Lario, Michael Lario, Nanette Villesca and Alice Medrano; twelve great-grandchildren; and twenty-four great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Cinderella Fuentes; daughters: Virginia Fuentes and Margie Nunez; parents and siblings.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at 12:30 at Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, TX.

Garry Lynn Prestidge, age 56, passed from this life Sunday, February 24, 2019 in Odessa, TX. He was born Saturday, July 28, 1962 in Shamrock, TX to Jimmy Doyle and Parthenia Mae Prestidge.

Growing up Garry was called “Tooter Bill”. He was a hard working man. He was a father to not only his kids, but to everyone. Garry loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing guitar, singing and fishing. He was a true friend and was always someone you could lean on. He always took very good care of his mother.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Parthenia Smith; sons: Bobby Verette, Brandon Verette and wife Lisa, and Douglas Rankin and wife Amanda Plummer; daughter: Meagan Ray and husband Sabino Lee; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Starla Prestidge; father: Jimmy Prestidge; and step-father: Ronald Smith.

Visitation will begin 5:00 pm Tuesday at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Family will be there to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, February 28, 2019 at New Dawn Fellowship, 2110 E. 10th Street, Odessa, TX. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Rolando Escajeda

Rolando Escajeda, age 50, passed from this life on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at his home in Odessa.  He was born to Hugo Rolando and Soledad (Lopez) Escajeda in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, August 20, 1968.  He married Luz Elena Ruiz in Los Angeles in 1992.  Rolando worked as a painter in the oilfield.

Rolando also went by the nick-names of "Big Rolis" and "Big Dog".  He loved his truck and listening to music.  He loved to eat and could often be found on a weekend watching TV and enjoying a cold beer.  Rolando liked to grill and enjoyed trips to the beach or to the lake.  One of his dreams was to get his own boat and go to Cancun.  He was a big teddy bear, kind and loving with a huge heart.  Rolando was a loving husband and father.  He was very proud of his son and daughter.  Rolando was his pride and joy and Leslie was his "Princess".  He was a exceptional son and brother as well and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Luz Elena Ruiz de Escajeda of Odessa; mother:  Soledad Lopez of El Paso; son:  Rolando Escajeda of Odessa; daughter:  Leslie Escajeda of Odessa; brother:  Eduardo Escajeda of El Paso; and sister:  Soledad Escajeda of El Paso.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather:  Eduviges Lopez Loya and his father:  Hugo Rolando Escajeda.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2019.  Funeral services will be at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel at 10:00 am on Friday, March 1, 2019, officiated by Father Joe Uecker.

Leo Eilers

Leo Eilers, age 87, passed from this life Monday, February 25, 2019 in Abilene, TX. He was born Friday, June 5, 1931 in Clarksville, TX to the late Bernice and Leo William Eilers, Sr.

Leo established Eilers & Sons Hotshot in 1979.He retired in 1991 in Brownwood to live out his dream at the lake. He loved to fish and sit on the front porch while drinking his coffee. He married Peggie Louise Teeters Saturday, March 15, 1952. Leo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his daughters: Paula Eilers Hounshell and husband Perry, Betty Eilers Clay and husband Richard, and Patsy Eilers Ellis and husband Barry; son: Larry Don Eilers and wife Monica; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Peggie L. Eilers; son: F.A. Eilers; sisters: Louise, Wanda, Ruth Ann, Annie Belle, and Margaret; and one great-grandchild: Caitlyn Cotton.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM Saturday, March 2, 2019 at North Lake Community Church 3131 Harbor Dr. in May, TX officiated by Ron Keener. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Rose Hill Garden section of the Ector County Cemetery officiated by Jason Cotton.
