Shirley Lee Tidwell, age 69, of Kermit passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 3, 2018. She was born Tuesday, April 19, 1949 in Kermit to James Ernest Thomas and Jewel Farmer.
She married the love of her life, Thomas Don Tidwell in 1975 in Kermit, together they raised two children, a son Hamer Dwight (Yolanda Chandler) of Odessa and Tammy Louise Charles (Lyle) of Kermit.
She is also survived by two sisters, Candy “Jeanette” Ferguson of Kermit and Kittie Compton (Ricky) of Louisiana and nine grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Sheila Casteel and Julia Spivey and one brother: Jimmy Thomas

Paula Beegle-Cervantez, age 75, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She began her earthly journey in Mill Run, PA on Friday, February 19, 1943. Paula married Steven Cervantez in Odessa on June 17, 1982. She worked for Texas Instruments for many years and was a dedicated homemaker.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband of 36 years, Steven Cervantez of Odessa; four beloved daughters: Joyce Landman and Debra Dickerson, both of Pennsylvania, Stacy Cervantez and husband Luis Aguilar, and Tracy Watkins and husband Jeremy, all of Odessa; four grandchildren: Steven William Cervantez, Michael Watkins, Shelby Watkins, and Gemma Sue Watkins; sister-in-law: Linda Barragan of Odessa; father-in-law: Sam P. Cervantez of Odessa; cousin: Kitty Bowers of Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and her lifelong friends: Bunny Scott of Pennsylvania, Joyce Murray of Beaumont, TX, Shawn and Barbara Holmes of Whitney, TX, Marcia and Weldon Evans of Odessa and Michelle Smith of Odessa.
She is preceded in death by her mother: Tillie Lydick and her mother-in-law: Josie Cervantez.
Open visitation will begin at Acres West at 4:00 pm Monday, August 6, 2018. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Eloisa Vasquez Hernandez, age 90, passed away peacefully at her daughters home Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was born August 6, 1927 to Fermin and Julia Vasquez in Torreon Coahuila, Mexico. Eloisa married Pedro B. Hernandez August 13, 1944 and celebrated many wonderful years until his passing in 1991. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly.
Eloise is survived by her children, Mary Hernandez (Tino) of Odessa, TX; Rita Torres (Santos) of Corona, CA; Angie Mendez (Pepe) of Garden Grove, CA; Eva Manrriquez (Emilio) of Anaheim, CA; Elia Salgado (Primitivo) of Levelland, TX; Josie Hernandez of Midland, TX; Pedro Hernandez (Chelo) of Odessa, TX; Jaime Hernandez of San Diego, CA; Johnny Hernandez of Odessa, TX; Rudy Hernandez (Laura) of Ontario, CA; Eloigio Guerrero (Nellie) of Whiteface, TX; and close family friend, Eloise Mata (Joe) of El Paso, TX; 30 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to Thank Letty Salgado for caring for Eloise during her final moments.

Billie Raughton Woodson, age 83, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018. She was born in Stanford, TX, on Saturday, March 16, 1935 to the late L.O. and Velma (Shannon) Raughton. She married the love of her life, Louis Woodson Saturday, May 3, 1952.
Billie was a hairdresser for many years and was a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Louis Woodson; son: Danny Woodson; grandsons: Jason Mabry and family of North Carolina, Greg Mabry of Dallas, Steven Mabry and family, and “Little” Louie Woodson of Odessa.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her caregiver, Mary Ibarra of Georgetown, TX.

Our baby boy, Damian Zubia, age 1, was taken away to Heaven Tuesday, August 14, 2018. He was born Monday, December 26, 2016 in Odessa, TX to Jose Luis and Linda Ruby Zubia.
Damian was a very smart boy who loved to play ball. He was very independent, liked to do things on his own, was always on the go, and loved to help out with everyone. He was a little jokester who liked to pick on his family. Damian loved to eat. He was a beautiful little boy who brought nothing but joy and happiness to everyone who came across him.

Damian era un niño muy inteligente al que le encantaba jugar a la pelota. Era muy independiente, le gustaba hacer cosas por su cuenta, siempre estaba en movimiento, y le encantaba ayudar en todo. Lonnie Everette Crow, age 74, of Odessa, passed from this life Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Odessa, TX. He was born Saturday, August 28, 1943 in Matador, TX to Louetta Clark and the late Thomas Crow.
Lonnie was a good spirited, funny man who loved to laugh and tell stories. He was a family man, a great friend, and very outgoing - and he never met a stranger. He retired from ECISD. He loved to play golf and he was very good at it and was very proud of his 9 holes in one. Lonnie was a US Army Veteran and a member of the Shriners.

Stanford Edmon "S. E." Blanton, age 68, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his home. He was born on Thursday, April 6, 1950 in Odessa, to Stanford E. Blanton Sr. and Mabel Dean (Strickland) Blanton. S.E. married Carolann Benton in Odessa on May 28, 2007. He worked in the oilfield as a pipeliner and pumper.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Carolann Blanton of Odessa; daughter: Terri Lynn Blanton Lindley and husband Phil of Arlington, TX; step-children: Terry Lancaster of Odessa and Stormy Wadleigh of Ft. Christopher Douglas Faltus was born November
2, 1987, and left us way too soon on August 16, 2018. He was 30
years old. In this life, he was loved by numerous family, friends,
and co-workers and will be greatly missed.
Chris graduated with honors in 2006 from the Career Center and then earned his Associate Degree in Digital Imaging and Design from Texas State Technical College in 2009.
Chris loved music, video games and hanging out with his friends.
Though his life has ended unexpectedly, it is not his death that we should dwell, but instead remember his smile, his determination, and laugh. We will be forever grateful for the time we shared with him.
Chris is survived by his parents, Dawn and Al Fellers, Doug and Jayne Faltus, all of Odessa; one brother, Ethan Koennecke of Waco; four sisters and their families, Cynthia and Michael Stanton, Jori and Buddy Pearce, Chelsea and Kevin Conlon, all of Odessa, and Kari Lyn Gomez, of Bedford.

Alberto “Chino” Gochicoa, III went to be with his Lord and Savior
on Friday, August 17, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born
Saturday, December 5, 1964 in Pecos, Reeves County, Texas to
Alberto Gochicoa, II and Emma Alvarez.
Known to all as “Chino” he worked in construction until his health would not allow it anymore. He love low-riders and enjoyed working on them and would never pass up a chance to go fishing.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are two brothers, Will and Richard Barriga both of Odessa and one sister, Josie Aranda also of Odessa. he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Today we remember Nelson Rios aka Papo, born on July
15, 1958 to Candido Ortiz and Adela Saltare in New York, N.Y. As a
child, Papo was adopted and raised by his paternal grandmother
Jacqui's Gonzalez and her husband, Antonio Rios.
He attended Miami Park Elementary, Madison Jr. High School and Miami Central High School. Papo spent over 30 years working in private security.
Papo loved to dance disco, tell long dramatic stories, eat Puerto Rican food, dine at the Olive Garden and spend time with his loving nephew and his family as well as other family members. Papo had an active sense of humor and a mischievous streak.
Papo is preceded in death by his grandparents and his parents. He is survived by his brothers Pito, Alan and Anthony and his sister, Sally. He is also survived by his loving nephew, Anthony Nelson Ortiz aka T.J., with whom he was very close, his nieces, Alanys Isis and Alianexis and several other nieces and nephews. Papo was loved by many and he will be missed. See you on the other side.

home in Odessa on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born in
Clovis, NM on September 27, 1962 to the late Charlie and Verdi Faye
Jones. She was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of over 10 years: John Hunter of Odessa; sons: Dustin Hale of Albuquerque, and Cody Hale, Jason Hale and Brandon Scott, all of Hobbs; daughter: Kelsey Scott of Hobbs; and numerous grandchildren.

Arturo Leyva Gallegos, age 53, of Monahans, passed away at his home on Monday, August 20, 2018. He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on October 29, 1964 to Paula (Gallegos) Leyva and the late Pedro Leyva. He was a welder in the oilfield.
Arturo is survived by his wife: Marcella Leyva of Monahans; mother: Paula Leyva of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, MX; son: Arturo Leyva of Monahans; daughter: Erika Leyva of Monahans; two brothers: Gustavo Leyva Gallegos of Carmago, MX and Pedro Leyva Gallegos of Ojinaga, MX; sisters: Elena Herrera of Johnstown, CO, Juana Leyva of Carmago, MX and Lucila Leyva of La Perla, MX; and three grandchildren: Addison, Eddy Jay, and Aubry.
Funeral services will be at a later date in Mexico with burial to follow at Cementerio de Ejido Maijoma.
