Our precious baby girl, Marcela Mendiola took her last breath Friday, July 13, 2018. She was born Wednesday, June 27, 2018 to Humberto Mendiola and Miriam (Perales) Mendiola.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her parents; brother: Franco Mendiola; grandparents: Pedro and Margarita Mendiola, and Luis and Anna Maria Perales; and great grandmother: Emma Olivares.

Daniel Marta

Daniel Marta, age 29, of Gardendale, passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital on Saturday, July 14, 2018 after a tragic accident.  He was born Saturday, September 27, 1988 to Mario and Maria Marta in Van Horn, TX.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his parents: Mario and Maria Marta; two sons: Daniel and Esequiel Marta; one daughter: Evallette Marta; one brother: Mario Marta; and one sister: Janette Aguirre.

Lea Jean Williams, age 51, of Odessa, passed from this life Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born Friday, June 23, 1967 to the late Frank Orosco and Betty Bramlett in Socorro, New Mexico.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband and love of her life: Glen Williams; sons: Glynn Williams III and Zach Williams; daughters: Leann Cole and Lisa Bramlett; and grandchildren: Aiden, Jane, Asher, Cameron and Kalob.

Lea is preceded in death by her parents.

Manuel Anaya Jr.

Manuel Anaya Jr., 45, of Odessa, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018 in Wisconsin. He was born Monday, April 30, 1973 in Los Angeles to Manuel P. Anaya and Francis Ferrell.  Manuel was a cook for Fortune Cookie for 12 years.  He was a lover of movies, cooking, fishing and low-riders.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mom and dad: Francis and Francisco Ferrell; daughter: MaryJane Anaya and two grandchildren: Zayden and Kayden all of Odessa; two brothers: Jairo Francisco Torres and Sergio Torres; and three sisters: Veronica Bernal, Laura Yvonne Portilla and Monica Luz Gonzalez.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Deacon Manuel Luevano.  Service arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

William Butch Fulton 2018
William “Butch” Odell Fulton

William “Butch” Odell Fulton, age 74, of Brownfield, passed from this life Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in Brownfield, TX. He was born Tuesday, August 17, 1943 to the late Odell Fulton and Winona J. Lasiter in Brownfield, TX.

Butch’s favorite pastimes were fishing and camping. He worked as a driller and tool pusher for over 40 years and he loved his job!

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Vickie Murphey Fulton; sons: Billy Fulton, Todd Fulton, Greg Bruce, Christopher James Hopper and Uriah Lee Richardson; daughters: Gina Fulton Forehand, Leslie Bruce Baker and Jennifer Renee Miller; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother: Rafaul Fulton.

Viewing will begin 1:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2018. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Acres West Funeral chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Fernando Lara Gonzales, 59, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Sunday, June 7, 1959 in Alpine, TX to Fernando Mata Gonzales and the late Guadalupe (Lara) Gonzales.  He was a construction worker and contractor.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his father:  Fernando Mata Gonzales of Odessa; three sons:  Damian Sanchez and Jason Gonzales, both of Odessa and Fernando Montoya of Montana; daughters:  Lisa Gonzales of Odessa and Lisa Montoya of Colorado; brothers:  Herbert Gonzales of Austin and Johnny Gonzales of Odessa; sister:  Carol Navarrette of Odessa; and fourteen grandchildren and one on the way.

Visitation will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm.

Sherry June Duarte, age 71, of Odessa, passed from this life on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Kankakee, IL on Sunday, March 30, 1947 to Curtis and Betty June (Hurtz) Smith.  She married Augustine Duarte in Mesa, Arizona. Their anniversary was coming up on August 18th.  She was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband:  Augustine Duarte of Odessa; three sons:  Bradley Coleman and wife Darlene of Austin, Brian Coleman and wife Ashley of Amarillo and Augustine Duarte, Jr. and wife of Arizona; two daughters: Debra Ledbetter and husband Brian of Oregon and Gloria Tiscareno and husband Ruben of California; three brothers:  Curtis Smith of Illinois, Todd Smith of Arkansas, and Dennis Smith of Hawaii; two sisters: Debra David and Roxanne Smith, both of Illinois; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter:  Sherry Ann Juhasz.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Maria de Jesus Brito, age 58, of Odessa, passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 20, 2018. She was born Friday, December 25, 1959 to the late Guadalupe Sanchez Rodriguez and Rosa Emma Salgado Machuca in Mexico. She was a homemaker who was the heart of her family, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Raul Portillo Brito; sons: Raul A. Ramirez and wife Laura, all of Odessa and Raul Brito, Jr. of Laredo, TX; and daughters: Daisy M. Ramirez and her husband Lucio Guevara and Arlene Brito, all of Odessa, Carissa Brito of Las Vegas, NV and Krystle Lea Brito of Laredo, TX; brothers: Juan Rodriguez of Ojinaga, Sergio Rodriguez of Odessa, Manuel E. Rodriguez of Midland and Auden Urias of Dallas; sisters: Cecilia Rodriguez Melchor of Presidio, Guadalupe Rodriguez of Ojinaga, Maribel Rodriguez Aguilar and Lilia Rodriguez Sanchez, both of Odessa, and Socorro Rodriguez Cortez of Midland; mother-in-law:  Celia P. Brito of Presidio; brothers-in-law:  Ruben Brito of Presidio and Ricardo Brito of Odessa; sister-in-law:  Rebecca Brito of El Paso; and grandchildren: Sean A. Ramirez, Audrina J. Ramirez, Shae J. Guevara, Javin X. Guevara, all of Odessa, and Rylee Brito and Arabella K. Brito, both of Laredo, TX.

Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018,  followed by burial at Odessa II Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Father Fernando Bonilla will officiate.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Vicky Thorp 2018
Vicky Thorp

Vicky Thorp, age 72, of Odessa, passed from this life to her heavenly reward on Saturday, July 21, 2018.  She began her earthly journey in Andrews, TX on February 6, 1946, one of three children born to Chris and Lou Rosser. She was raised on a farm/ranch where she became an expert on horses. Vicky owned horses all of her life and had a carriage ride for Christmas to raise money for the kids. For many years, Vicky has been a fixture in West Odessa. She had a mission to make a loving and comfortable home for terminally ill foster children, with her hospital/home called Vicky's Kids. She has cared for many children over the years, most of whom were on life support. Vicky has made arrangements for Vicky's Kids to remain open in her memory even after she is gone. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vicky's Kids (11049 W. Hoffman Drive, Odessa, TX 79764) for the children, to ensure that they are taken care of in the same way Vicky would have.

Although her parents and siblings predecease her, Vicky is survived by nine adopted children: Casey Thorp, Victor Thorp, Diego Thorp, Gary Thorp, Devin Thorp, Keith Thorp, Alexis Thorp, Shandi Quinton and Tina Mungia.

Viewing will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Billy Weaver 2018
Billy Roger Weaver

Billy Roger Weaver, 60, of Odessa, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Saturday, February 8, 1958 in Seminole, TX to the late Joann (Jones) and Billy Jack Weaver. Billy married his loving wife of 35 years, Friday, December 31, 1982 in Odessa, TX.  He loved riding his motorcycle and anything to do with motorcycles. He also enjoyed spending his time fishing and drag racing. Billy was also the owner and operator of Spearman Radiator and Supply.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Smylie (Hargrove) Weaver; one brother: James “Greg” Weaver; and two sisters: Debbie Crawford, Tammy Bishop.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A viewing will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1 pm-9 pm; and Monday, July 23, 2018 from 8 am to 12 noon. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Gerald Wayne Bradford

Gerald Wayne Bradford, 59, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in Odessa, TX. He was born Wednesday, July 1, 1959 in De Leon, TX to and Elsie Mae (Leach) Bradford and the late Gerald Mack Bradford.

Wayne was a hard working, self employed man who loved his family. He had the biggest heart and was the most caring person you would ever meet. Wayne never lost his childlike wonder. He was very eclectic and eccentric, but at the same time, down to earth. He was very proud of his nickname “Nooner”. He was a lifelong card carrier of the procrastinator’s club. Wayne’s positivity will be missed.

Wayne’s enthusiastic love for junk, small backyard treasures and mentoring neighborhood kids on the proper use of PPE “personal protective equipment”, earned him the endearing title of “Papa Wayne”. It was a name he wore like a badge of honor.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife; Angeline Henley Bradford; mother: Elsie Bradford; son: Jeremy Bradford; brothers: Delton Bradford and Mark Bradford; sister: Becky Bradford- Turner and three grandchildren.

In Honor of Wayne’s giving spirit, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels in his memory.

Pablo Lopez Martinez, 88, of Fort Stockton, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Tuesday, March 4, 1930 in Mexico to the late Pablo Lopez and Maria Ines (Martinez) Lopez.  He was a farmer and rancher.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Yolanda Hernandez-Lopez of Ft. Stockton; six sons:  Efren Lopez, Lorenzo Lopez, Javier Lopez, Federico Lopez, Ruben Martinez and wife Alma Tobar, Manuel Diaz, and Carlos Flores, all of Mexico; daughters:  Magdalena Lopez, Carmen Lopez, and Maria de la Luz Diaz, all of Mexico; two brothers:  Manuel Lopez Martinez and Juan Lopez Martinez; sister:  Carmen Piñon; a large number of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
