Roy Jackson "Tom" Thomas Jr.

Roy Jackson "Tom" Thomas Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Midland, TX on Friday, June 22, 2018 - his 72nd birthday.  He was born in 1946 to the late Roy Jackson Thomas Sr. and Francis (Hall) Thomas in Hondo, TX.  He married Kelly Dodd in Grand Forks, ND on October 28, 1983.  Mr. Thomas retired in 1985 from the US Air Force after 20 years of service and had served 20 years working for the Government Services Administration (GSA) in Washington, DC, retiring in 2007.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife:  Kelly Thomas of Midland; three daughters: Jasmine Owens of Anderson, SC, Jonnett Teshome of Ethiopia and Jana Thomas of Florida; and three grandchildren:  Fiker Teshome, Rebirra Teshome, and Leya Hope Teshome.

No services will be held at this time. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

On Friday, June 22, 2018, Tina received total healing from cancer and her suffering has been replaced with rejoicing.  When her Savior called, she reached out and took His outstretched hand, and entered into life.

She was born on June 20, 1967 to James M and Sharon Kay Ruby Davis, in Odessa, Texas.  She married Glenn Allen Patton on May 16, 1986 and her pride and joy Destiny was born on March 28, 2002.  She helped raise six other beautiful children that were very dear to her heart.  She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She loved her family and friends, but she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ even more.  She leaves a legacy that will forever be remembered.  She was a faithful member, at Full Gospel River of Life Church in Odessa, Texas, where she loved to worship and be in the Presence of God.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents Richard Ruby, John Emmitt and Sally Elizabeth Davis, A.O. and Eva Workman, also her mother Sharon Kay Ruby Davis.

She is survived by her husband Glenn Patton, daughter Destiny Patton, both of the home; her father James M. Davis and wife Julia, of Odessa, Texas; brother Steve Davis and wife Sherri, of Odessa, Texas; brother Mike Davis and wife Sherrie of Lavaca, Arkansas; several uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, officiated by Reverend Donald Hetherington, at Full Gospel River of Life Church, 1121 S. Meadow Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 between 12 noon and 1:30 pm at the church.

Jesus Lara Jimenez, age 71, of Odessa passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Saturday, June 23, 2018.  His earthly journey was begun Tuesday, April 1, 1947 in Artesia, NM, born to the late Luis and Francisca (Lara) Jimenez.  Jesus was a Vietnam War Veteran, having served in the US Army.  He married Erlinda Villanueva in Odessa on November 8, 1969.  He had attended Odessa College and earned his certification in ultrasound welding.  In his free time, Jesse could be found peacefully awaiting a bite at the end of his fishing line.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Linda V. Jimenez; son:  Jesse Jimenez Jr.; daughters:  Krista Saenz and Sherry Limon and husband Oscar; brothers and sisters: Santiago Jimenez, Manuel Jimenez, Carmen Esparza, Guadalupe Jimenez, Ismael Jimenez, Jose Jimenez, Willy Jimenez, Juan Jimenez, and Luis Jimenez, Jr.; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son:  Joseph "Joey" Jimenez.

Prayer services will be at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, with a song service led by Pastors Jesus and Martha Fierro.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Full Gospel Covenant Church, 7500 W. 10th Street, Odessa, TX, officiated by Pastor Kathy Peña.  Interment follows at Los Angeles Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Eva A. McBride, age 67, of Odessa, TX passed from this life Tuesday, June 26, 2018. She was born in Brownfield, TX on Wednesday, April 11, 1951 to John Thomas Wright and Florence McBride.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her daughters: Stephanie Denise McBride - husband Alvis Redic, Florence Evette Pride - husband Darrell, and Travette Lashon McBride Richardson; brother: Jimmy McBride; sisters: Nita Smith, and Evelyn Anderson, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Eva worked as a CNA and caregiver for over 30 years. She was a person who had many friends and loved being around people. She went by “Granny” to many people. She enjoyed always caring for her nails and would do them every chance she had. Eva was a Dallas Cowboys fan who loved watching her boys play.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: David McBride and Charles Bryant; and sisters: Emily Williams and Ernestine Kelley.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Odessa II Gardens section at Ector County Cemetery. The family would like to thank Buena Vida Nursing home, Medical Center Hospital and Dr. Ramanathan for caring for our mother. Thank you Home Hospice. Baby Andy Alvarez, Jr., an infant, left his tiny handprints on our hearts and went back to Jesus' arms on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. 

Those who look forward to holding him in Heaven are his loving Mommy:  Marisol Olivas and Daddy:  Andy Alvarez; maternal grandparents: Isidro and Ermila Olivas; paternal grandmother:  Rosa Gonzales; and maternal great-grandpa:  Arnulfo Perez.

Hortencia Baeza de Ramirez, 84, of Odessa, passed from this life Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Saturday May 19, 1934 to Arcadio Baeza and Concepcion Sosa in San Francisco Municipio de Ojinaga, Chihuahua. She married the love of her life, Eliseo Ramirez, in 1955 before moving to the states.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Carlos Ramirez -wife Linda, Alfonso Ramirez, and Jesus Manuel Ramirez - wife Lucia; daughter: Eva R. Dominguez - husband Robert; sister: Dolores Baeza Zuniga -husband Ignacio; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews 

Hortencia is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Philip Trent Struck, 80, of Odessa, passed peacefully from this life Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence. Phillip was born Wednesday, September 8, 1937 in Munday, TX to the late Aubrey Albert and Lorene Elizabeth (Little) Struck.  He married Nancy Brooks in Granbury, TX on April 2, 1956.  He was a carpenter who enjoyed working with his hands.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife:  Nancy Struck; son:  Ricky Struck; daughters:  Rhonda Palmour and husband Terry, Kristi Allbright and husband Mike and Mandi Mayhew and husband Marcus; brother:  Harold Struck; sisters:  Carolyn Jean Britton, Linda Straub, and Karen Aaron, four grandchildren:  Cody, Lacie, Kaci and Kayla; great-grandchildren:  Kimberleigh, Shelby, Jaylea, Rylea, Kyle, Jaysten, Dakota, Lyndzie, Emily, Jomi, Briana, and Blake; and two great-great grandchildren:  Jayce and Connor.

Phillip is preceded in death by his parents and one daughter:  Lori Lyn Martin.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Bartlett.

Daryl Johnson 2018
Daryl Shane Johnson

Daryl Shane Johnson was born in Big Spring, Texas on July 13, 1963 to James and Billie Johnson. He grew up on the family farm at St. Lawrence, Texas, South of Garden City, Texas, graduating from Garden City High School in 1981.  He graduated from Odessa College in 1984 with a degree in Residential Construction. While at Odessa College he ran long distance on the track team. Odessa became his home.

June 11, 1994, he married Melissa Fullerton at First Baptist Church in Odessa. Daryl was involved in the Gideons International and the Downtown Lions Club. With his passion of History, Government, and Politics, he helped with the education of his daughter, Zoe and son, Naaman. They are following in his footsteps by also attending Odessa College. He has a great passion for WWII and never missed the chance to tell you about his father fighting in WWII. He loved to tell these stories. Everyone became his pupil. He was a patriot and made it a point to thank all veterans and civil servants who he came in contact with for their service.

Daryl was also a dad to several foreign students from Germany, China, Greece, Japan, and Spain. He opened his heart and home to many. He had a special connection with Carsten Wendt because of their love of German History. His heart was completely in love with his daughter from China, Xin “Shirley” Gao.

Daryl was an active member of Odessa Christian Faith Center. Many knew him serving as the “parking lot guy”. He loved his church family.

Daryl took his last breath June 30, 2018 while working. He loved to work as if he was doing it for the Lord. Daryl was a hotshot truck driver for High 5 Services.

He was a preceded in death by his parents: James and Billie Johnson. His survivors are his family, Melissa, Zoe and Naaman, all of Odessa, Texas. Daughter, Xin Gao from Carrollton. His sister, Phyllis Dawson and husband James from Austin and his brother Lance and wife Eileen Johnson of Arlington and many more cherished family.

Daryl’s family would be greatly honored if you have your gifts of love sent to his church’s new Gateway to heaven, the Legacy, and help build their new church building of Odessa Christian Faith Center.

Memorial Services will be Friday, July 6, 2018, at 11:00 am at Odessa Christian Faith Center at 8860 Andrews Hwy. That evening, family and friends will be gathering to celebrate his life with a food and fellowship of a barbecue at Grace Christian Fellowship, 3450 Billy Hext Road, serving at 7:00 pm.

Jesus Guadalupe Ramirez Almance “Lupe”

Jesus Guadalupe Ramirez Almance “Lupe”, 57, of Ojinaga, passed away July 3, 2018. He was born Monday, July 18, 1960 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua MX to Jesus V. Almance and Trinidad Ramirez. He married the love of his life Maria Gomez on February 29, 1981.

Lupe was a happy, positive person who loved music. He loved to play guitar and sing his worship music. He was a man who loved his sports, especially when it came to football, boxing, racing and muscle cars. Lupe loved to take care of himself and would exercise and work out as often as he could. He was someone who never gave up, on anything.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Maria Almance; son: Jose D. Rodriguez; daughters: Ana Garcia (Freddie), Yesenia Alvarez (Alvaro), Lupita Flores (Joe); brothers: Auden R. Almance (Rosa), Pedro R. Almance (Dora); sister: Olga Horton (Abram); and 12 grandchildren who he loved dearly.

He preceded in death by his parents.

Prayer services will be at Iglesia del Camino, 903 South County Rd. West, Odessa, TX on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm.  Funeral services are also at Iglesia del Camino on Monday morning, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Humberto Porras.  Interment follows at Odessa II Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery.

Jesus Estrada Valles, 50, of McCamey, TX was found to have gone to join his mother Zenaida and father David Brown in heaven on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Presidio, TX. He was born Monday, June 17, 1968 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua to the late Felipe Estrada and Zenaida Valles.

Jesus was everyone’s protector and never met a stranger. He was a gentle soul that enjoyed time with family and friends. He was a hard working truck driver, but enjoyed down time to be able to play with his grandkids along with his nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son: Jessie Valles; daughter: Latasha Huffman; brothers: Donald and Franklin Brown; sisters: Mary Flores and Marisol Valles; numerous nieces and nephews; and ten grandchildren who he loved dearly.

Jesus is preceded in death by his parents.
