Thomas Elmo Gabriel, age 62, of Odessa, TX entered eternity on Saturday, January 27, 2018. He was born in Hamlin, TX on February 15, 1955 to the late Elmo Bernice and Sharlot (Riddle) Gabriel.
Over the course of his 62 years, Thomas Elmo Gabriel managed to touch the lives of many. We celebrate and cherish those memories which we will hold with us for many years to come.
As an adult, Tom worked hard to serve others in many different capacities; whether that be as a Deputy Sheriff for the Wink County Sheriff Department, or toiling away in the vast oil fields of West Texas.
Tom was a loyal friend and confidant. While he was good at telling you what was on his mind, he was also good at listening, and was always willing to lend an ear to those who needed it. Many people sought his opinion and advice when it came to matters of importance. He was a compass, whose direction was often consulted, and rarely questioned.
May his life serve as an inspiration to others. May his acts and deeds live on in the memories of those he cherished, and who equally, continue to cherish him. May the God of Grace speed his soul to that endless river from whence all we all were born and to which we all must return.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife: Yolanda Gabriel; sons: Kenneth Gabriel (Kendra) of Abilene, Christopher Gabriel of Odessa and Robert Bryce Gabriel of Odessa; daughter: Leslie Moncrief (Dakota) of The Colony; brother: Ralph Gabriel of Stamford; sisters: Teresa Matthews of Abilene and Sherri Lynn Gabriel of Merkel; as well as 3 grandchildren: Marly, Mason and Mallory.
