Maria, a homemaker, married Ezequiel Payen, Sr.
She enjoyed cooking and baking.
She welcomed family and friends into her home and provided
them with a warm meal.
Singing was very important to her and she looked forward to family
reunions where singing was a big part of them.
Maria was a hard worker and provided for her family after
her husband’s death.
She moved to Johnson in 1994 from Barranco Azul,

Payen, Jr. of Andrews, Texas, Maricela Gomez of Johnson, Kansas;
brother, Abraham Urquidiz of Kermit, Texas; 26 grandchildren,
numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents;

Sabino Natividad, age 41, of Odessa, passed from this life on Monday, December 5, 2016. He was born in Carlsbad, NM on October 9, 1975 to Florentino and Maria Elena (Benavides) Natividad. He was a truck driver.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his parents: Florentino and Maria Natividad of Odessa; maternal grandmother: Consuelo Corrales of Odessa; daughter: Sabrina Natividad of Odessa; brother: Jose Natividad of Andrews; sisters: Cristina Natividad and Adela Bujanda, both of Odessa and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date in Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, MX with burial to follow at Municipal Cementerio de Manuel Benavides. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Our little angel, Cataleya Lucy Martinez was born and whisked away to the arms of Jesus in Odessa on December 6, 2016.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her parents: Armando and Brittany Martinez of Odessa; paternal grandparents: Chris and Grace Martinez of Odessa; maternal grandparents: Tina and Joe Ponce and Albert Llanez, all of Odessa; sisters: Jaelene and Avri Martinez, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother: Lucy Vincent Llanez.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Wade Schultz. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Kim Olline Chalfant, of Midland, TX died peacefully at the Madison Medical Resort in Odessa, TX on December 7, 2016 at the age of 60.
Kim is survived by her loving husband: Paul Chalfant of Midland; her big brother: Glen Burkhalter and his wife Gina of San Angelo; son: Trae Burkhalter, his wife Brandy and their son Noah, of Lubbock; son: Sheyney Burkhalter, his wife Kim and their children Justin, Nathan, Dylan, Ian, Brenna and Riley of Illinois; step-daughter: D'Aune Williams, her husband Roy and their children Trevor, Makayla, Justin, and Nicole of Midland; step-son: Waylon Andrews, his wife Nicol and their children Madisyn, Dyllan and Taylor of Iowa; step-son: Chadd Schultz, his wife Brandy and their children Kelton and Kenzie of Oklahoma; her life-long best friend and surrogate sister: Sharon Marsh and her husband Jim of Odessa; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kim was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Olline Burkhalter; father, Cullen Bryant "C. B." Burkhalter; sister, Evelyn Burkhalter; and brother, Cole Burkhalter.
Kim was born on August 24th, 1956 in Pecos, TX to Joyce and C.B. Burkhalter. She married her soulmate and best friend, Paul Chafant, on November 3, 2000. After moving to Midland, TX, Kim began working for High Sky Children's Ranch, providing support for adoptive and foster children. She loved children and had a tremendous passion to nurture. Her family and friends remember her as a loving mother and fierce friend who always encouraged and supported them in the pursuit of their goals.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Kim's life. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Kim's honor to Hospice of Midland, the American Cancer Society, or the High Sky Children's Ranch. The family would like to thank Hospice of Midland, Madison Medical Resort and their staff for the caring support provided to Momma Kim during her transition.
Her memory will always be cherished, and may her heart be at peace.
|Elva Jo "Jody" (Little) Davidson|
Elva Jo "Jody" (Little) Davidson, age 85, of Odessa passed from this life at Orchard Park of Permian Basin on Thursday, December 8, 2016. She was born in Cisco, TX on April 25, 1931 to the late Glenn and Elva (Jernigan) Little.
Jody loved to work in her yard, taking care of her roses, and mowing her own lawn even up to this last summer. She lost her parents at a young age and was a strong woman with a deep faith and a tender heart. Jody married Carl T. Davidson and they were happily married for 59 years. She was truly a homemaker, whose life was taking care of her husband, home and children. She was a self taught seamstress, crocheted and made beautiful blankets for her children and grandchildren. An awesome cook, Jody made the best red velvet cake and enjoyed watching cooking shows. She had a sharp mind and loved politics, music and dancing.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her son: Dave Davidson and wife Cindy of Odessa; three daughters: Renee Hollander and husband Mal of Possum Kingdom, Deedee White and husband Steve of Saugus, CA, and Lisa Summers and husband Chuck of Castaic, CA; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Glenn and Elva Little; her husband: Carl T. Davidson; and two sisters: Patti Nell Feeler and Billye Ruth Vaughn.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, December 12, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by David Newton. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Jordan Cass Minear, age 24, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Thursday, December 8, 2016. He was born in Colorado City, Texas on May 29, 1992 to Phillip Stacey and Carol Angelene (Dillon) Minear.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Teresa Michelle Minear of Odessa; daughter: Jaycee Grace Minear of Odessa; two brothers: Devin Minear and wife Ashley and Jonathan Minear, all of Odessa; sister: Misty Minear and husband J.D. Easley of Odessa; five aunts: Becky, Darlene, Vonda, Sandy and Eetha; two uncles: Randall and Ronnie; three nieces: Melinda, Macie and Payzlee, all of Odessa and four nephews: Nathan, Wyatt, Lane and Zaxtyn, all of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and father: Phillip Stacey Minear.

Mark Daniel Mauck, age 57, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Midland on Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born in Williamsport, MD on August 12, 1959 to Shirley Regina (Holland) Yohe and the late Ralph Lee Mauck. He was a master carpenter and a rock hound (gem and mineral hunter). He enjoyed working with his hands and the discovery of beauty.
Mark is survived by his wife: Vicki Lynn Mauck of Midland; mother: Shirley Regina Yohe of Williamsport, MD; three daughters: Julia Mauck of Falling Waters, WV, Nicole Lopez and husband Michael of Crane, TX, and Andrea Beasley of Jacksonville, FL; brothers: Clinton David Mauck and wife Amanda of West Virginia and Floyd Allen Mauck and wife Angie of Crane County, TX; sister: Cherie Michelle Pryor and husband Walter of Hagerstown, MD; six grandchildren: Reigna, Kelsey, Shawna, Caprisha, Jamier, and Caleya; nieces and nephews: Allen, Tyler, Tiera, and Kionna; and great-niece: Makaiya.
He was preceded in death by his father and infant sister: Carolyne Annette Mauck.
Being a simple man, Mark's wishes were for no funeral services to be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Maribel Adame, age 45, of Odessa, passed away at Odessa Regional Medical Center on Saturday, December 10, 2016. She was born in Rexburg, ID to Eleuterio and Consuelo Adame on December 21, 1970. Maribel was a home healthcare nurse.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her parents: Eleuterio and Consuelo Adame; son: Mateo Espinosa; daughter: Cynthia Espinosa; brothers: Jesus Adame and Eleuterio Adame, Jr. and sisters: Agustina and Nancy Adame; all of Odessa.
Her husband, Miguel Angel Luevano, preceded her in death.

Juana Gomez de Carrasco, age 85, of Odessa passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in San Pedro, Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 29, 1931 to the late Julian and Petronila Gomez. She was a homemaker.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Gerardo Carrasco of Mexico, Pedro Carrasco of Friona, TX, and Guadalupe Carrasco of Mexico; daughters: Maria Carrasco of Odessa and Silveria Carrasco of Mexico; sister: Diega Gomez of California; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Her parents, her brother, Alberto, and her sisters, Martina and Luisa, precede her in death.
Funeral services will be at a later date in Mexico with interment to follow at Cementerio San Pedro in San Pedro, Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga.
|Dewey Dwayne Blevins Jr.|
Dewey Dwayne Blevins Jr., age 66, of Midland, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was born in Big Spring, TX on Sunday, August 27, 1950 to the late Dewey Dow and Minnia Lee (Birdsong) Blevins. He married the love of his life Carol Jean Millett in Durango, Colorado on August 6, 1968 and together they raised 7 children, as well as assisting in the upbringing of over 50 foster children.
Dewey was a man that held many titles. Not only was he a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle but he was a Staff Sergeant, Doctor, Reverend, Teacher and most of all he was friend and confidant. Dewey served in the US Marines in the Vietnam War Bravo Company 1st Battalion 9th Marines from 1967-1971 and held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He went through 8 years of college and held a Doctorate in Theology. Dewey had a passion for helping those in need and started Shiloh and afterwards Zion Christian Church. He also opened a school to help at risk teens achieve an education. Through the church and this school he influenced the lives of many. His unconditional love and support earned him the respect of all who came to know him. He also had a love for riding motorcycles and said this is where he could feel Gods presence. Dewey was passionate about music. He played in bands since the age of 13. His passion was evident everywhere he went and in everything he did.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his loving wife of 48 years: Carol Jean Blevins of Midland; four sons: Dewey Blevins III and fiancé Marsha of Odessa; James Blevins and wife Kristina of Midland; Joshua Blevins and wife Kelli of Odessa and Larry Smith of Odessa; three daughters: Nikki Smalling and husband Matt of Midland; Whitney Farley and husband J.B. of Odessa and Debi Smith and spouse Susie of Marble Falls; sister: Sharrie Reid of Clearmont, Florida; 11 grandchildren: Dewey IV, Capri, Kristian, Bubba, Mari, Brayden, Alex, Josh, Jovie, Liam and DeAnna and 4 great-grandchildren: Jakob, Dewey V, Kaydence, Indigo and Rowan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Darryl Douglas Blevins and Billy Dow Blevins.
Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 1415 Grandview in Odessa, TX, officiated by Pastor Josh Blevins and Reverend Roy A. Galloway. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
