Barbara married Ricky Brown in Odessa on December 17, 2011. They were married at 12:17 pm on 12-17 – just to make it easy to remember. When asked what she really wanted at the time of their marriage, her reply was “my grandchildren.” She wasn’t interested in cars, homes, or riches. Barbara’s name, “Nana” says it all. It is the word most used in their home. She was always saving the munchkins.
Barbara was also a beloved wife, mother, sister and daughter. She loved and cared for her mom and was always concerned for her welfare. She cherished and loved Cheryl, her sister. She was Lisa’s loyal defender and had realized her dreams of developing a relationship with James. She was Ricky’s “Beauty to his Beast” and a part of him.
Barbara was a Cowboys fan (Go Romo!) and loved Dale Earnhardt, Jr. She also enjoyed camping and fishing. She was an independent person, who loved animals. She fostered cats and dogs and raised chickens and dachshunds who will miss her dearly. (Although she hated the roosters!) Although she called them foster, there was probably never any real plan to find them any other home.
Barbara was Saved and believed in Christ her risen Savior and wanted everyone to know and accept Christ in their lives. The one thing we can be sure of is that Barbara is now in her Father’s house where he has prepared many mansions.
