|James Russell “Bubba” Acker|
James Russell “Bubba” Acker, age 21, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 in Marathon, TX. He was born in Midland on June 10, 1992 to Russell Earl Acker and Alina Acker Goree. He worked in the oilfield as an electrician. Bubba married Alexis “Lexi” Conner in Midland on April 22, 2013.
Bubba loved the outdoors; he and his Uncle Vern would go hunting, fishing and trapping. Uncle Randy and Aunt D’anne and cousin T. J. shared his love for NASCAR and would go to races with him. A bit of a workaholic, Bubba loved his job. Family was important to Bubba. He loved his mom, and his wife and little girl were the center of his world. Vern Jones was very special to him and he adored Rylie Wood (his niece).

J. and Casi Henson of Midland; close friends: Trey Hurt, Matt Wilcox, Bryson Leal, and Jonathan Swinney were just like brothers to him; all of his buddies from Hillcrest School; The Jones Family and All of Lexi’ s Family; and his dogs: Sam, Herman, Harley, and Outlaw, who had a special place in his heart.

In Loving Memory of our mom, Ginger Kay McMurry Dixon, age 72. Born on April 17, 1941, she left this earth surrounded by loving family on September 17, 2013 at the Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.
Ginger was an avid Nascar fan. She watched it all the time. Her favorite driver was Tony Stewart. She loved to fish and tell stories about past adventures and episodes of her children and grandchildren, of which the family loved to sit and listen to. Ginger loved her family and she had a heart of gold. She was a fighter, worry-wart, and fought a long hard battle with illnesses. Ginger will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Ginger is survived by her mother: Wenona McMurry of North Richland Hills, Texas; Sisters: Shirley Hawes of Lubbock, Texas and Carole Talley of North Richland Hills, Texas; Daughter: Lori Courtney who stayed by her side and cared for her to the very end; Son: Billy Dixon and wife Pam of Las Cruces, New Mexico: “Special”Daughter-in-law: Janice Turner and husband John of Odessa, Texas; her life-long best friend since age 14: Kathy Giddens of Marble Falls, Texas; 7 Grandchildren: Michael Dixon, Chashann “Nikki” Dickson, Sean Dixon, Cody Dixon, Chelsea Tirree, Candice Grant, Christopher Turner; 18 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her Father: Truman A. McMurry; Sister: Patsy Parum; Sons: Jerry Dixon and Ricky Dixon.

June Prosise, age 84, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Buena Vida Nursing and Rehabilitation in Odessa. She was born in Ft. Stockton, TX on August 23, 1929 to the late Houston and Dorothy (Pannell) Kimbrell. She married Earl Prosise in Eden, TX on November 19, 1943. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
June was a member of the Church of Christ, a devout Christian who loved her Lord. She enjoyed fishing. June loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren wholeheartedly. They affectionately called her “Duck” because of her hairstyle. No matter how much they knew she loved them, her kids and grandkids all could recognize “the look” that meant they had messed up and trouble was headed their way.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Jim Prosise and wife Alley of Odessa and Joseph (JoDe) Prosise and wife Amy of Red Rock, TX; daughter: Cheryll Hightower of Odessa; two brothers: Don Kimbrell of Midland and Skeet Kimbrell of Roscoe; sister: Muffitt Terril of San Angelo; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandkids; and her little dog “Mr. Big”.

Fredrick R. Gonzales Jr., 43, was called to heaven on September 19, 2013. He was born to Freddie Gonzales and Librada Cortez on October 29, 1969 in Odessa, Texas. He worked in the pipeline industry.
Freddie was a member of Redeemer Christian Fellowship. He loved horses and was a trainer and a jockey. Freddie was a known to be a joker. He loved to make people laugh. He was a Mr. Fix It and was a jack of all trades. Freddie had a big heart and always put everyone else before him. He was one to give you his last dollar, if you needed it. His favorite saying was, "Dude”. Freddie loved to cook and always had a secret recipe. His tip was a jalapeno.

Marilyn Sue Ager, 63, was called to heaven on September 19, 2013.
Marilyn was born to John F. Ager and Stella Jo Lee Ager on February 23,
1950 in Odessa, Texas. Marilyn was a retired teacher and librarian
from Murry Fly Elementary.
Marilyn was a very generous and kind person who loved to help others when possible. She loved little ones. Marilyn was also fond of horses. She enjoyed books of all kinds making it easy to spend so many years as a librarian at Murry Fly Elementary. It was a job she loved. Marilyn was a member of the West University Church of Christ since its inception in 1978.

Patricia Ann Aldrich, age 67, of Odessa passed away peacefully on September 20, 2013. Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”John: 11 verses 25-26.
A celebration of her life will be held in Austin, Texas for family and friends at a later date.
Patricia was born in Erie, Pa. on August 5, 1946 to George Vargo and Mae Vargo. She graduated from General McLane High School in Edinburg, Pa.
She Married Robert Craig Aldrich in 1966.
She worked as a CNA for 40 years in children’s burn units, with mentally challenged children and later worked for in-home care for the disabled and elderly. She truly did God’s work all of her life. She lived a simple life but it was so meaningful to so many whose lives she touched. The loves of her life were her son Christopher Robert Aldrich, daughter-in-law Lori Aldrich and her grandson Chance Robert Aldrich, all of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Wayne and David Vargo of McKean, PA. She is survived by a brother: Jim Vargo and his wife Doris of Keyswick, VA, and two sisters: Elizabeth Van Dyke of Erie, PA and Nancy Groves of Northunberland, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Odessa Home Hospice.

Matias Flores Huerta, 90, of Odessa, Texas passed away on September 24, 2013 at Mi Casita Nursing Home in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on March 19, 1923 in Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico. Matias was a retired butcher and laborer.
Matias was a smiling happy man who was never angry and who loved to dance and have a good time. He loved his family most of all. He would help his wife every chance he got around the house with housework and was very active in raising his children. He loved to cook and was a hard worker. Matias was a very great father, grandfather and father in law. He will be missed by all especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Simona Grado Hernandez Huerta of Odessa; sons: Santiago Huerta of Brownfield, Texas, Adan Huerta and wife San Juanita of Odessa, Efrain and wife Norberta Huerta of Odessa and Simon Huerta of Lubbock, Texas; daughters: Guadalupe Huerta Lujan and husband Ramon of Odessa, Irma Huerta Lomas and husband Jairo of Odessa and Ramona Marquez of Alton, Texas; brothers: Huberto Gilbert Huerto and wife Ines, Paulino Huerta and Braul Huerta all of Mexico; sisters: Sara Herrera and husband Jesus of Odessa; 21 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Matias is preceded in death by his parents: Santiago and Isidra Huerta; brothers: Julian Huerta, Fulgencio Huerta and Natividad Huerta; and sisters: Chevila and Orthelia.

Robin Adrienne Peters Garcia, age 62, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Pauls Valley, OK on December 22, 1950 to the late Richard and Elinor (Alexander) Morris. She was Methodist. Robin was a retired teacher, who served ECISD at Bonham Jr. High. She was a North Texas State University graduate and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
A former performer at Six Flags over Georgia, Robin had a lifelong love of theater and dance.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of eight years: Julian Garcia; son: Michael Peters and wife Katrina of Frisco, TX; daughter: Lauren Hall and husband Jim of Navarre, FL; sister: Carol Ann Revell and husband Bruce of Boerne, TX; and two grandchildren: Breelee Peters of Frisco, TX and Asher Hall of Navarre, FL.

Douglas Lloyd Alling, age 67, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, September 27, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in New Britain, CT on October 6, 1945 to the late William Alling Sr. and Violet May (Lodge) Alling. Doug married Norma Jean Holzer in Cloudcroft, NM on December 19, 2001. She preceded him in death March 31, 2012.
Doug lived, laughed, and loved fully. Comparable to a force of nature, he lived large. He enjoyed traveling and having fun. Also known as “Dougie” and “Pops”; he was a very giving man who never met a stranger. Always a jokester, he was bound to leave you with a smile.

|Darrell Keith Gardenhire|
Darrell Keith Gardenhire, age 59, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 29, 1954 in Memphis, TX to Bill and Frances (Sheen) Gardenhire. He graduated from OHS in 1972 and served in the US Air Force from 1973-1977. He worked for H&S Valve for over 30 years.
Darrell was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Odessa. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching NASCAR with his brother and other friends. His mama’s hot rolls and cookies were his weakness.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father: Bill Gardenhire of Odessa; mother: Frances Gardenhire of Blackwell; brother: Dwight “Gordy” Gardenhire and wife Cheryl of Blackwell; sister: Sharyn Carrigan and husband Michael of Gardendale; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and great friends.
