Timothy L. Patton, age 55, lifelong Odessa resident, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 5, 2013. He was born in Odessa on Wednesday, January 15, 1958 to the late James Lewis “Pat” Patton and Joellen (Churchwell) Patton. He married the love of his life, Brenda Gail, in 1976. She preceded him in death October 29, 2007. Timothy worked at Meek Refrigeration as a sheetmetal mechanic, but was a cowboy at heart. He enjoyed riding and roping.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Jason Patton of Itasca, TX and Josh Patton of Lubbock, TX; brother: Tony Patton of Odessa; and four grandchildren: Taylor Patton, Pason Patton, Pecos Patton, and Jaxon Patton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, May 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. Za’lexi Alisandra Fierro, a borrowed angel, returned to Heaven on May 7, 2013 after blessing us with her presence for 1 year and 3 months and 11 days. She was born in Odessa on January 27, 2012 to Cesar and Abigail (Jimenez) Fierro, several months premature and fought to stay with us as long as she could.
Those left to look forward to holding her again in Heaven someday are her parents: Cesar and Abigail Fierro; paternal grandparents: Ofelia Fierro and Cruz Muniz; maternal grandparents: Jacob and Sandra Orona; maternal great-grandparents: Alfredo and Bertha Navarrete; paternal grandparents: Juan and Ricarda Fierro; two sisters: Zarae Barragan and Zaydee Trevino; aunt: Jennifer Muniz; and two uncles: Jacobray Orona and Jesus Muniz; all of Odessa. She also leaves behind numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 10:30 am, officiated by Father Joe Uecker. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Brian Scott Arnold, age 42, of Odessa, departed this life on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Odessa on January 1, 1971 to the late Melvin and Carol (Keefer) Arnold. He was a salesman.
He is survived by his wife Aprile Arnold of Odessa; four daughters: Hollie Wood, Brooke Arnold, Chelsea Crumpley and Morgan Crumpley, all of Odessa; two sons: Brandon Wood and Blake White, both of Odessa; five brothers: David Arnold, Eric Arnold, and Bill Cavender, all of Odessa, James Cavender of Dallas, and Shawn Cavender of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial gathering of family and friends will be at New Life Church, 7184 Club Drive, Odessa on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.
Harold David Jones, Jr. age 62, of Odessa died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Snyder, TX on December 17, 1950. David was very knowledgeable about the Bible and devoted himself to Bible study several hours each day. He was a member of Zion Christian Church.
David owned and operated Krystal Klean Windows, worked in carpentry and in real estate. The life of the party, he was a bit of a goof ball and was always joking around. He thought he was invincible and was always getting himself into predicaments, but never complained.
Those left to cherish his memory are one daughter: Ashley Faith Jones of Odessa; and two sisters: Dana Hasler of Oceanside, CA and Jolynn Vacca of Mena, Arkansas; and his weenie dog: Socks.
He was preceded in death by his parents: H.D. and Rita Jones and his beloved wife: Vickie Ann Jones.

|Benjamin “Ben” Arthur Moore|
Benjamin “Ben” Arthur Moore, age 29, was born to Arthur J. Moore and Claudia S. Moore on April 6, 1984. He passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital.
Ben graduated from the Career Center in 2002 with honors. He was a brilliant student that shared his knowledge and intelligence by tutoring other students his entire life. He went to Bowie Jr. High where before and after school he volunteered in his mother’s special ed class at San Jacinto Elementary to help other students. He spent his whole life helping others in any way he could. Ben felt if he could make a difference in someone’s life – even one – then his life had meaning. Even in death – Ben saved lives. He had signed up at the donor registry years ago. His heart, kidneys, and liver were donated to three different patients. Ben’s love and spirit will live on in them.
Ben was a compassionate, caring, loving, and intelligent man. He touched so many lives. Everyone loved Ben.
He worked for Hi-Tech Production Systems in quality control.
He was preceded in death by Letha and Paul Shelton, Robert “Bob” Moore and Nellie Moore, Ted Moore, Mark Moore, and Chad Nicodemus.
He is survived by his parents: Art and Claudia Moore; his sister: Taunell Moore Marcum; brother-in-law: Jason Marcum; uncles and aunts: John and Lois Shelton; Paula and James Bivins; cousins: Seth Moore and Chris Bivins; and best friend and “big” brother: Thomas Davis.
Memorial services for Ben will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.

Ruben Pablo Galindo, age 28, died Monday, May 13, 2013 in a terrible car accident. He was born in Ft. Stockton, TX on December 7, 1984. He married Perla Tavarez in Midland on January 12, 2008.
He is survived by his wife: Perla (Tavarez) Galindo of Odessa; parents: Ignacio and Carmen Galindo of Ojinaga, Mexico; son: Pablo Galindo of Odessa; brother: Elizsergio Galindo of Odessa; and sister: Salmai Carnero of Presidio.
Funeral services will be at a later date at Iglesia Bueno Nuevas in Ojinaga, officiated by Andres Galindo. Interment will follow at Colinas del Eden in Ojinaga.

Mary Bell Friar
Mary Bell Friar, age 70, of Odessa, passed from this life on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Brooksville, MS on April 28, 1943 to the late Porter Hendrix and Pearlie Mae (Moore) Hendrix. She was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
Mary and Dennis Friar became sweethearts while in school together at Pine Grove, Shannon, MS. They married in Shannon, MS on May 21, 1964.
She was devoted to her family and loved her children and grandchildren with a passion. With her family divided between Odessa and Mississippi, Mary traveled back and forth frequently. Dennis has a business doing landscaping and yard work and Mary loved going to work with him. Nothing ever held her down. Mary was an outgoing, kind-hearted person who was always happy. She enjoyed playing Bingo and doing word searches.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband of almost 50 years: Dennis Friar of Odessa; their children: Lesia Collins, Dennis Friar Jr. and wife Samantha, all of Odessa, Valarie Perry-Friar of Tupelo, MS, Christopher Friar, Phyllis Friar, and Karen Friar, all of Odessa; two sisters Katherine Martin and Lorena Ivory, both of Shannon, MS; six brothers: Roosevelt Hendrix of Tupelo, MS, William Hendrix of Dover, DE, Porter Hendrix, Jr., John Lee Hendrix, Sr., and Joseph Hendrix of Shannon, MS and Steve Hendrix of Tupelo, MS; twenty-two grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Mary Louise Friar and her brother: Alfred Swope.

Jesus Palma Arevalo, age 86, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Deerings Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Marfa, Texas on July 25, 1926 to the late Manuel Palma Olivas and Juanita Arevalo Juarez. He married Dionisia Ramon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Odessa in 1968. He worked in the oil field and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Jesus was a hard worker who was very active. Never idle, he walked a lot and enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. He was very nice and slow to anger. Jesus was the “go to” guy if you loved asadero cheese.
He is survived by his brothers: Braulio Palma and wife Isabelle, and Elucio Palma; and sisters: Tomasa Palma and Ernestina Palma; all of Odessa.
In addition to his parents, Jesus was preceded in death by his wife: Dionisia Palma; sister: Epifania Palma; and his brothers: Geronima Chavez, Miguel Palma, Melquides Palma, Eusebio Palma, and Francisco Palma.
Memorial services will be held in Ojinaga, Chih. Mexico at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University, Odessa.

David “Tato” Lopez of Balmorhea, TX
was born November 18, 1966 in Pecos, TX and went to paradise on May
14, 2013. David was a
rancher who enjoyed the outdoors and loved horses.
He was a hard working person, very family oriented, and a
joy to be around .
Survivors include his parents: Jose Lopez and Dominga (Hernandez) Lopez of Balmorhea; his sisters: Olga Opperud and Lori Baeza, both of Odessa; brother: Randy Lopez of Balmorhea; wife: Estella Arrondo of Balmorhea; sons: Jeremy Baeza of Odessa, David Lee Lopez of Dallas, Jonathan Angel Lopez of Miami, FL, Dillon Lopez of Arkansas, and Jose Jesus Lopez of Balmorhea; two grandchildren; and a host of nephews and nieces.
His maternal grandparents: Micia and Ed Hernandez, paternal grandparents: Maria and Domingo Lopez, and his brother: Joe Lopez, Jr. preceded him in death.
Rosary will be recited Friday evening, May 17, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church of Balmorhea at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 10:00 am, Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery. Guadalupe Alvarado Valdez
Guadalupe Alvarado Valdez, age 83, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Hospice House in Odessa. He was born in Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico on March 12, 1930 to the late Estanislado Valdez Contreras and Teresa Alvarado Brito de Valdez. Guadalupe married Maria Dominguez Quezada in Ojinaga, CH, Mexico. He worked in agriculture doing field work.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Dominguez Quezada Valdez of Odessa; three daughters: Irma Franco and husband Conrado of Odessa, Guadalupe Gonzalez and husband Gerardo of Alpine, and Rosa Isela Loera and husband Jose of Ojinaga, CH, MX; two sons: Ramon Valdez and wife Aurora of Saltillo, Coah. MX and Mario Cesar Valdez and wife Irasema, of Odessa; two sisters: Carmen Valdez and Estela Valdez, both of Delicias, CH, MX; brother: Isidro Valdez Alvarado of Ojinaga, CH, MX; and fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Guadalupe was preceded in death by one son: Manuel Valdez, brother: Avelardo Valdez Alvarado, and two sisters: Socorro Valdez and Maria Luisa Valdez.
