|Alejandro “Alex” Thurman Olivas|
Alejandro “Alex” Thurman Olivas, age 16, of Lamont, Oklahoma passed
away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his residence in Oklahoma. He
was born in Odessa, Texas on April 9, 1996 to Ildefonso Olivas
and Michelle Thurman. Alex was a student at Deer Creek Lamont High
Alex was very athletic. He enjoyed football, basketball, fishing
and video games. He was very mature for his age and very loving. He
was great with kids. He read to pre-K kids at the elementary
school. Alex had many, many friends. He was a joker, very calm and
mellow but energetic and would argue with a fence post (which made
him a great debater). Alex loved his family and friends and they
loved him in return. He will be missed.

Rosary will be 7:00pm, Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Acres West
Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 30,
2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (2633 Conover Ave, Odessa, TX
79763), officiated by Father Arturo Pestin. Interment will follow
at Los Angeles Garden in Ector County Cemetery. The family will
receive friends at the Parish Hall of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church
immediately following the graveside service.

Enedina Castillo Fuentes, 78, of Odessa died November 26, 2012. She
was born December 19, 1933 in Ignacio, Zaragoza, Chihuahua, Mexico
to the late Adelaido and Manuela (Favela) Castillo. She was a

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers: Adelaido Castillo, Ernesto Castillo, Fernando Castillo, and Enrique Castillo; and two sisters: Isidora Flores and Irma Chaparro.

|Rhonda Yvonne Morris|
Rhonda Yvonne Morris, 54, of Odessa passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at her residence in Odessa. She was born in Odessa on October 30, 1958 to John Henry and Durlene Barnett Morris. Rhonda graduated from Odessa High School in 1977. She went to work at El Farmer for 24 years and left to work at Baker Hughes until she became disabled.
Rhonda loved her Lord and couldn’t wait to be called home so that she could see her “Dur” again. She had a heart of gold and was one of the most giving people you would ever know. If someone was in need, she was there and did all that she could. Rhonda had no children of her own, but loved every child she came in contact with. Rhonda was very creative. She could decorate anything and make it look good. She loved writing and kept extensive journals.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her brothers: John Morris and Dale Morris both of Odessa; Sister: Carol Hull of Odessa. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.

|Priscilla Ann Nelson|
Priscilla Ann Nelson, age 71, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX on January 18, 1941 to the late Paul Moxley Hickam and Ara Lee (Davis) Hickam. She was a retired LVN and nursing home administrator.
Priscilla was a skilled seamstress. She loved to crochet, embroider, and sew. She used to make dozens and dozens of Barbie doll dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. An artistic person, she enjoyed painting with oils and acrylics as well. She did not have much time, however, to spend on her hobbies. Priscilla came directly from college to a job as director of nursing. Her work at the nursing home kept her busy sixteen hours a day.
She is survived by her son: Paul L. Nelson and wife Elizabeth “Beth” of Topeka, KS; daughters: LaFonda Fletcher and husband Keith of Blanchard, OK and DeAnna Giesick of Odessa; sister: Kay Scroggins and husband Budd of Odessa; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Andrews Old Cemetery, officiated by Brother John Snider. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W University Blvd. Odessa, TX.

Anthony Steven Ruiz, 30, of Odessa passed away on Saturday,
December 1, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Kermit, Texas on
March 1, 1982 to Tony Ruiz and Eva (Dunivan) Smith. Anthony worked
as a roughneck in the oilfield.
Anthony was a very outgoing person who enjoyed playing baseball and football. He dreamed of being a surfer/daredevil and was a movie buff. He was a hard worker, free loving, had a big heart and was there for anyone who needed help. When you had troubles, Anthony was always someone you could share your thoughts with and he always had respect for what you had to say. No one knew this better than his best friend and brother, Adam. He was respectful to his elders and loved to give hugs. Anthony loved his family and was a fantastic Uncle. Anthony you will be missed by all.

Tommy Skelton, 47, of Odessa passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 in Odessa. He was born in Dallas, Texas on March 26, 1965 to Thomas and Claire Skelton.
Tommy was a wonderful son. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Tommy loved going to the lake; riding his jet ski and fishing with his daughters. He was big into motorcycles and racing cars at Penwell. Tommy owned some of the fastest cars in Odessa, but never got a speeding ticket. You would always find him wearing his black cowboy hat. He loved his cowboy hat but above all Tommy loved his family. He especially enjoyed playing softball with is nieces. He had a great love for all kids, and he loved his nieces and nephews just like his own children. Charles, his brother-in-law, looked to him as a brother. Tommy, you will be missed by all. He was called home doing what he loved most, riding dirt bikes with Tracy his best friend and brother-in-law.

|S. D. “Sammy” Flax, Jr.|
S. D. “Sammy” Flax, Jr., age 54, of Bryan, TX, ascended into the arms of Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Odessa on December 19, 1957 to Lilar Lucille (Proctor) Flax and the late S. D. Flax, Sr. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and was very faithful. He loved the Lord and devoted much time to prayer.
Family was very important to Sammy. He loved his sisters and was very close to his brothers. He was the favorite uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. Sammy was also known as “Bug” and “Samwell” – only sometimes as “S. D. Jr.”. He enjoyed fishing and playing dominos and “tried to” dance. Sammy was the comedian of the family and loved to make everyone laugh. He especially enjoyed sitting down with others for a good visit. His favorite saying was, “It’s a beautiful thing.”
Those left to cherish his memory are wife: Sherry Flax of Odessa; daughter: Andrea Smith of Odessa; son: Fabian Flax of Round Rock; his mother: Lilar Lucille Flax of Odessa; three brothers: Edward Flax and wife Betty of Pearland, Larry Flax of Odessa, and Randy Flax and wife Sarah of Bryan; seven sisters: Gloria Beck of Flower Mound, TX, Irish Flax, Mary Nelms and husband Morris, and Donna Cole and husband James, all of Odessa, Sandra Toliver and husband Charles of College Station, Marilyn Medlock and husband Carl of Odessa, and Pamela Flax of The Colony; two grandchildren: A'Lasia Smith and Ja'Schawn Smith; aunt: Hester Johnson of Odessa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Canuto Davila Tarango, 61, of Odessa, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012. He was born on July 21, 1951 in Stanton, Texas, to Manuel Tarango and Adela Davila Tarango. He was a machinist and a Christian.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia (Paz) Tarango of Odessa; three sons: Canuto Jason Tarango, Christopher Xavier Tarango and Mari Juano Tarango all of Odessa; two daughters: Melinda Sanchez and Delila Tarango, both of Odessa; one brother; two sisters; and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one son; Elithaniel Tarango.

Rosalind Marsha Kinney, 69, of Odessa, died Thursday, December 6, 2012, at her home in Odessa. She was born October 01, 1943, in Topeka, Kansas to the late Valentine and Virginia (Greybeal) Arrizzia . She was a waitress.
She is survived by her sons: Matthew Kinney of Temple, Joseph Kinney of Saint Regis, Montana, Billy Kinney and Judson Kinney of Odessa; daughters, Leannah Sowell of Carthage and Sharon Nevil of Mt. Enterprise; twenty-two grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Bill Lindon Kinney.
