She was born on August 8, 1982 to Jorge Macias and Mayola Acosta (Velasco) Sanchez. She was a daycare worker. Jessica was the sweetest woman in the world and a very good mother. She was very family oriented and loved to travel.

Daniel Rodriguez “Tata” Fernandez, age 76, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Regency Hospital of Odessa. He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on February 18, 1935 to the late Miguel and Gregoria (Rodriguez) Fernandez. He married Isabelle Duran on August 11, 1956 in Artesia, NM and they had just celebrated fifty-five happy years together. He was an independent welder in the construction and oil industries.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife: Isabelle Fernandez of Odessa; three daughters: Patricia Garcia, Anna Marie Aleman and husband Jose, and Carmen Attaway and husband Eddie Pando, all of Odessa; brother: Manuel Fernandez of Rockport; three sisters: Beatrice Morales and husband Joe of Hobbs, NM, Olivia Mendoza and husband Manuel of Roswell, NM, and Emma Medrano and husband Jesus of Odessa; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, his son-in-law, Patrick Garcia, precedes him in death.
Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, August 19, 2011 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Mona Lisa (Richardson) Emery, age 45, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at her Odessa residence. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa on November 3, 1965 to Kenneth and Mary (Lawver) Richardson. She was a homemaker. She married Glenn Emery in Colorado on Valentine's day, 2007.
She is survived by her husband: Glenn Emery of Odessa; daughters: Jennifer Smith and Stacy Smith, both of Milwaukee, WI; son: Jason Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; brother: Kenneth Pierce of Lancaster, WI; grandchildren: Ian, Alexys, and Xzavior Smith, and two additional grandchildren.

Ruby Jean Kirkpatrick, age 77, passed from this life on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at her Odessa residence. She was born in Webb City, Okla. on July 29, 1934 to Charles and Mildred Marie (McCammon) Weaver. She retired from work as a hairdresser in Pampa, TX before moving to Odessa in 1968.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Vickie Mathews and husband Nick; and her grandson: Eric Mathews, all of Odessa; one sister: LaDona "Doni" Peoples of Arkansas City, Kan.; and one brother: Edward "Eddie" Weaver and wife Kaye of Shidler, Okla.

Rita Zo Robinson, age 89, passed from this life on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Hospice House in Odessa, TX. She was born on June 1, 1922 in Olustee, OK to Geneva and Oran Davis. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, OK in 1938, and received her B.A. from Texas Tech University in 1942 where she was a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society. She later received her M.A. in Special Education from the University of Texas – Permian Basin.
Rita had a passion for educating children, spending 39 years as a teacher before retiring in 1985. 37 of those years were spent in ECISD schools in Odessa. She also spent seven years as an adjunct professor for UTPB, and three years as Director for La Fiesta Girls Club. After retiring, she served as the Vice-President of the Odessa Retired Teacher Organization.
Rita was a very active member of the community in Odessa. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Odessa, TX for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School classes for both children and adults, served as a member of the Session, and was an Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Women. She also served as President of the Odessa Regional Hospital Auxilliary.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Leland Davis, Fancher Davis and Lowell Davis. She is survived by her sisters, Beth Watson of Amarillo, TX and Lou Medley of Spring, TX; her children, Carla Callarman and Davis Robinson, both of Odessa, TX; her grandson Paul Callarman and his wife Bess, of Dallas, TX, her granddaughter Erin Faulk and her husband Travis, of Odessa, TX; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Kelly and Taylor Kelly; her step great-grandchildren, Alexander Faulk and Sirena Faulk; and many wonderful friends in the Odessa community.
Memorial services for Rita will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Odessa, on Monday, August 29, 2011, at 4:30 PM, officiated by Dr. Jim Longstreet. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice House or First Presbyterian Church.

D. R. “Ray” Bullard, age 73, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born September 20, 1937 in Hico, Texas to Asa Bullard and Bertha Julia LaVada (Loyd) Bullard. He married Linda Connelly in Odessa on Valentine’s Day of 2002. Mr. Bullard worked as a pumper in the oilfield. He was a member of the Victory Temple Church.
Ray was a hard worker who worked seven days a week. When he wasn’t working, he loved to play games – anything from Yahtzee and Wahoo to slot machines. He also enjoyed watching Western movies and Bonanza. He liked to camp and was an expert at setting up and tearing down a tent. Ray always had a houseful of family and he loved to visit. He was a great listener and loved to help people.

Robert William English, age 74, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Sienna Care Center in Odessa. He was born in Paige, TX on November 24, 1936 to Joseph Garland English and Sarah Freda (Hills) English. Robert was a truck driver and a US Army Veteran.
He married Esther Ruth Crysup in Itasca, TX on August 10, 1963. They enjoyed 48 years together.
In addition to his wife: Ruth English of Odessa, he is also survived by two sons: Derek English and wife Rhonda of Spring and Bret Parker and wife Lin of Savannah, GA; two sisters: Bonnie Susan of Smithville and Billie Williams of Bryan; one brother: Charlie Lee English and wife Peggy of Desert City, AZ; six grandchildren: Stephen, Kerry, Shawn, Denver, Zachary, and Victoria; and one great-grandchild: Davyn.
His parents and four sisters: Verna Ruth, Edna Mae, Pearl Phillips, and Oma Mae Phelps, precede him in death.

Gary Don Redding of Odessa, age 37, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011 at Hospice House in Odessa. He was born on March 21, 1974 in Refugio, TX to Teddy Louis Redding and Eva Nell Bures Redding. He was a machinist in the oilfield.
Survivors include his wife: Samantha Tiner ; mother: Eva Nell “Pepper” Redding; and three brothers: Ricky Redding, Terry Redding, and Cory Redding, all of Odessa.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 26, 2011 at Terrace Hills Baptist Church in Odessa, officiated by Chaplain Brian Serrano. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Hubert Milton Frie, age 91, passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 at his Odessa residence.
He was born in Post Oak, Jack County, TX on November 24, 1919 to the late Henry G. Frie and Mildred (Bolton) Frie.
Hubert was a corporal in the US Army in WWII. He married Nelda Lee Hankins on October 30, 1964 in Odessa. He was a head roustabout and retired with Texaco. He was a member of the Masons and Shriners. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, hunting, and travelling in his RV.
Hubert is survived by his wife: Nelda Frie of Odessa; a daughter: Barbara Maxwell and husband Larry of New Braunfels; two sons: Michael Jones and wife Karen of Odessa and Bob Jones and wife B.J. of Odessa; his brother: Thomas Frie of Graham; sister: Mildred Boland of Wichita Falls; and half sister: Joyce Kerns.
Hubert is also survived by his eleven grandchildren: Tanya Shelton of Bastrop, Darrin Cody of Odessa, Michael Jones of Odessa, Sherry Gonzalez of Houlka, MS, Hattie Webb of Odessa, Eric Jones of Rosenberg, Travis Jones of Lubbock, Jeffery Jones of Odessa, Karissa Jones of Odessa, Jared Clanton of Huntsville, and Linda Clanton of Huntsville; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Joyce Howsey and five brothers: James, Cubert (his identical twin), Marion, Allen, John and Leslie Frie.
Besides being twins, Hubert and Cubert were best friends. They enjoyed ninety great years together.

Lydia Carrasco Tercero, age 82, of Odessa, Texas,
passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Deerings Nursing Home in
Odessa. She was born on December 7, 1928 in Tierras Nuevas,
Chihuahua, Mexico to Eustacio and Angela (Tercero) Carrasco. She was
the lovingest woman in the world. She could always be found in the
kitchen cooking just about anything. She was a very loving, wonderful,
and spiritual woman who was also a cursillista.
She loved to attend and have prayer meetings when she was still
able. We know God has saved a very special place for her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Eustacio
and Angela Carrasco; son: Pablo Duran; and brothers: Manuel Prieto
Carrasco and Macario Carrasco.

Hunter Lee Bowers, age 12 days, of Odessa, returned to the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 28, 2011, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is the son of Craig Bowers and Krista (Morris) Bowers, born in Odessa on August 16, 2011.
He is also survived by his sister: Addison Bowers of Odessa; three brothers: Ayden Seibold, Austin Bowers and Colten Bowers, all of Odessa; paternal grandparents: Craig and Lisa Bowers of Odessa; maternal grandfather: Roy Morris of Odessa; grandmother: Shellie Tarkowski of Port Orange, Fla.; numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins.
