|Juan Ramirez Ramirez|
Juan “Juanito” R. Ramirez, 63, beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend passed away Saturday, August 13, 2011.
He was born April 28, 1948 in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico to parents Pedro and Ramona Ramirez. He grew up in Coyame, and still enjoyed traveling there any chance he got. He came to the United States in 1974 and eventually settled in Santa Ana, California. It was there that he met Beatriz Neri, and they were united in marriage on November 3, 1979. He was the proud father of a son, Alonso, and three daughters, Betty, Susie, and Anarosa.
Music was a huge part of his life. He learned to play the guitar at an early age, and throughout his life also learned to play other various instruments. However, he was best known for playing his red accordion. In 1989, he taught Susie, then age 5, to play the guitar; from there, everyone else was required to learn to play. Eventually, all his daughters learned some musical instrument, and in 1993 he formed what would be known as “Mariachi Familia Ramirez” with his daughters and wife. The Mariachi offered us many opportunities to meet new people, make new friends, and travel to new places. Music and his family were what kept him going every day.
He also loved his family endlessly. He was a proud grandfather to Alonso Jr., Joel, Abel, Pili, Yvanna, Alina, Amiyah, and Khloe. He had two favorite pastimes: taking care of his “Changas” Alina, Amiyah, and Khloe, and cruising around in his “Hummer”. He called his kids almost daily, and never hung up without saying “I love you.”
He never knew a stranger, and everywhere he went he always found a friend or a long-lost relative. He was always joking and kidding around with everyone and was always in a good mood. He loved to dance, and because of his dancing skills was known to many as “Resortes”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Ramona, his brothers Ramon Ramirez and Edmundo Ramirez, and sisters Pilar Gonzalez and Guadalupe Lujan.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Beatriz; son Alonso Ramirez and wife Aimee of California; daughters, Betty Rubalcaba and husband Roland, Susana Ramirez, and Anarosa Armendariz and husband Alfredo of Odessa; brothers, Cruz Ramirez and Nemesio “Tala” Ramirez of Coyame, Daniel Ramirez, Erasmo Ramirez, Horacio Ramirez, Eladio Ramirez, Homar Ramirez, and Joel Ramirez of California; grandchildren, Alonso Jr., Joel, Abel, and Yvanna of California, and Pili, Alina, Amiyah, and Khloe of Odessa; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends, and his beloved dog, Bella.
