Carolyn Christine Emerson passed from this life on Saturday, November 22, 2008 to be with her Lord and Savior. Carolyn was born on April 3, 1915 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Arnette and Cordelia Bogan. She was of the Methodist faith.
Carolyn is survived by three daughters: Debbie McMillan and husband Gary of Odessa, Jackie Simpson of Booneville, Arkansas, and Joanna Williams and husband Don of Springdale, Arkansas; eight grandchildren: Chris McMillan, Casey McMillan, Michael, McMillan, Melissa McMillan, Ricky Simpson, Randy Simpson, Michelle Naugle, and Richard Drymon; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
For forty years of her life, she was secretary to Federal Judge Lucius D. Bunton in Midland. She was a member and past president of Beta Sigma Phi, the Rho Master Chapter, and was recently honored for her sixty years of membership. She loved the sisters of the sorority and was active until her health failed her in the last few months.
The family would like to thank her friends for the flowers and prayers. We extend special thanks to the wonderful staff of Buena Vida Nursing Center, Regency Hospital, and Hospice House for their care of Carolyn in the last days of her life on earth.

Angelica Dutchover, age 74, passed from this life Sunday, November 23, 2008 at her Odessa residence. She was born October 28, 1934 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Eulogio Rodriguez Roman and Maria de Jesus Leyva de Rodriguez. She married Willie Dutchover April 10, 1965 in Balmorhea, TX. They enjoyed over forty-three happy years of marriage.
She leaves behind her husband: Willie Dutchover of Odessa and three sisters: Basilia Tercero of Austin, TX, Manuela Morones of Los Angeles, CA, and Maria Elena Anaya of Odessa. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and her dogs, Linda and Tiny.
She was a homemaker, a beloved wife, aunt and sister. She was also a treasured friend to many. She loved playing bingo and going to horse races with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Eulogio and Maria de Jesus Rodriguez; brother: Arnulfo Rodriguez; sister: Lucilla Rodriguez.
Rosary will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiated by Father Nilo Nalugon. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Hubert Willis Goldston, age 85, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa. He was born August 26, 1923 in Doyle, Stephens County, Oklahoma to Charles Joseph Goldston and Lula Dela (Hammer) Goldston. He was a driller and auto mechanic in the oilfield and a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a sharp 42 player. He enjoyed family research. Although he was an excellent driver, he drove like a nut.
He is survived by his wife: Pansye LaVerne Goldston of Odessa; two sons: Hubert W. Goldston, Jr of Salt Lake City, Utah and Patrick C. Goldston of Odessa; one daughter: Janice Michelle West-Bremser of Scotia, NY; one niece: Marjorie Sumy and husband Gar of Bakersfield, CA; nine grandchildren: Michael Norris Martin, Nannette Hope Ballard, David Grider, Erica Naomi Roberts, Cameron Hughes Goldston, Daniel Marsello Goldston, Stacey Sewell, Patrick Willis Goldston and Andrew Charles Goldston; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, five sisters, one sister: Fannie McCain and one grandson: James West.
Visitation at the funeral home will be from 8 am to 8 pm Tuesday and Wednesday, November 25 and 26, 2008. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2008 at Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ray C. Nanez, age 64, passed from this life on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa. He was born April 10, 1944 in Taft, San Patricio County, Texas to Reyes and Frances (Castillo) Nanez. He was a hair stylist.
He is survived by his mother: Frances Nanez of Midland; three sons: Ray Nanez, Jr of Midland, Tommy Nanez of Bakersfield, California, and Juan Jose Nanez of Odessa; four daughters: Olivia Lara of Odessa, Sonia Nanez of Kansas City, Missouri, Pascuela Nanez of Osceola, Iowa and Regina Romero of Odessa; two brothers: Eugene Nanez of El Paso, TX and Juan Nanez of Midland; four sisters: Janie Melendez and Gloria Nanez, both of Midland, TX, Hope Nanez of Odessa and Mari Luna of Loveland, Colorado; twenty-seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father: Reyes Nanez.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Joe Uecker. Arlan Max Price "Max" passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa at the age of 72. He was born in Clayton, Union County, New Mexico to Audie and Fern (Chadwick) Price on April 19, 1936. He married Linda Fought December 18, 1977 in Tucomcari, NM. He worked as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Price of Odessa; two sons: Tim Price of Deming, NM and Heath Price of Odessa; one sister: Audene Page of Clayton, NM; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Edna Mae Wilson, 77, of Odessa has passed from this life on earth to eternal life in Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 27, 2008. She was born in Jefferson County Illinois on October 1, 1931, the daughter of Inez Donoho Russell and Jesse Russell. She grew up in Vernon Illinois. She was a housewife who inspired everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wilson; grandson, Chris; daughter, Sherrie; mother, Inez; a brother; her pop and several others.
Edna leaves behind many, many friends. Some were people she knew all of her life and some were ones who would look at mom and say, “I want what you have”, meaning her peaceful, loving, helpful Christian spirit. She would tell them that Jesus Christ is all there is, and she led many to Jesus.
She’s leaving behind her loving daughter of 56 years: Linda Linder, her son-in-law: Lex Allgood of Brownwood, sister: Evie Moseley of Odessa; her brothers-in-law: Bob Wilson and wife Shirley of Oklahoma and Wayne Wilson of Washington; sister-in-law: Janet Marshall of Washington; grandsons: Gary Martin and wife Angi and Jimmy Martin and wife, Tiffany of Odessa; granddaughters: Mona Billingsley and husband Doug of Odessa, April Kelly and husband Gary; and Lisa Hancock and husband, Luke of Midland; and nine great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who she thought of often.
A special thank you to Compass Hospice, especially Rhonda Thompson who she loved like a daughter, and Owen, Cyndi, Carrie and Clay. They were a source of strength for us. Thanks to Interim Health Care especially Gwen and Beth.
Services are officiated by Rev. Owen Sharp and Rev. Jeff Box. The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Odessa. In lieu of food and plants the family requests donations be made to Compass Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Bradley Sparks left to be with our Lord on Friday, November 28, 2008. The Lord replied, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you. I have now carried you home to Heaven and you will have no more pain.
Brad was born February 15, 1985 in Odessa. He came into the world as a preemie baby and left us as a strong brave young man. Brad touched many lives and had a heart of gold and loved his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Renee Lightfoot, and is now in Heaven holding her hand.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are Gerald Sparks, Jr., Mason Sparks and Billy Lightfoot, Buddy and Kim Todd Thompson, Trevis and Darnell Jones, Gerald and JoAnn Sparks, Sr., Troy Todd and Steven Sparks all of Odessa; Blake and Lorraine Sparks of Midland, Jay Gray of Longview, J.D. and Audrey Gray of Lake Ivie. He is also survived by a very special friend, Rhonda Dominey, who loved him like her own son, as well as several cousins who will truly miss his smile.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Michelle Kathleen Wooten, age 37, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Odessa September 24, 1971 to G. W. and Leona Wooten. She worked as a waitress.
Survivors include her mother: Leona Shrum and husband Bill; two daughters: Hope Etheridge and Malarie Etheridge, both of Benton, Arkansas; one brother: Michael Whittington of Longview, TX; three sisters: Diane Wooten of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Christie Justice and Julie Whittington, both of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and one aunt.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Victor and Ida Kelley and her father: G. W. Wooten.
Funeral services are set for 2:00 pm Friday, December 5, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Leland Maples. Pallbearers will be Melza Kelley, Michael Whittington, Steve Young, Jim Phillips, Charles Whittington, and Christopher Whittington. Interment will follow at Western Roses Memorial Park, 4100 N. Bernard Frank Weygint, age 74, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning December 6th, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa, Texas. He was born February 25, 1934 in Ainsworth, Nebraska to Harold and Lena Weygint.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Thelma Weygint of Odessa; one son: Kenneth Weygint and wife Jaime of Spokane, Washington; one daughter: Linda Barry and husband William of Odessa; seven grandchildren: Nicole Weygint, Merika Barry, Tyler Barry and Dillon Barry all of Odessa, Christian Weygint and Mikayla Weygint of Spokane, WA, and Andrew Hill of Nampa, ID.
He is also survived by his four brothers; twin brother, Bert Weygint and wife Virginia of Lake View, Oregon, Ronnie Weygint and wife Linda of Thompson Falls, Montana, Larry Weygint and wife Marie of Wieser, Idaho, and Gary Weygint and wife Nancy of Puyallup, Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother: Donald Weygint.
Bernard was a water master ditch rider for the Black Canyon and Co-op ditch company in southern Idaho for 20+ years. He retired in 2004. He will be greatly missed by those who had the chance to meet him. We love you "honey", "dad", "grandpa", "papa", old friend. You will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Katheryn Iris "Kathy" Denning, age 82, passed from this life on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born in Polar, Texas to Aubrey Milton Mitchell and Fay Clatonia (Fails) Mitchell. She was well known in Odessa, having owned several taverns in town. She always worked hard and enjoyed life. She spent her last few years enjoying her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons: "George" Darwin Denning of Odessa, David "Mike" Denning of Riviera, Texas, John "Dennis" Denning of Breckenridge, Texas and "Douglas" Dean Denning of Tacoma, Washington; two daughters: Doria "Ann" Cobb of Lubbock, Texas and Dolores "Jan" Denning of Odessa; one brother: Aubrey Kimball Mitchell of Del Rio, Texas; one sister: Margie Nell of Baytown, Texas; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her family loved her and she will be greatly missed.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Western Roses Memorial Park, 4100 N. FM 1788, Midland, TX officiated by Brother Clydell Chapman. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Frank Earl Fahlstrom, Sr. age 56, passed away at Hospice House of Odessa on Monday, December 8, 2008. He was born June 14, 1952 in Odessa and was a lifetime Odessa resident. He loved his country and served in the US Army. He worked a variety of jobs. He was a diesel mechanic, a taxi driver, and a cook.
Frank was a loving father, brother, and grandfather. He was always happy and spent as much time as he possibly could with his grandchildren. He enjoyed football, wrestling, and fishing. He may have been stubborn and honery, but was an essentially a really good guy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son: Frank Earl Fahlstrom, Jr. “Bubba” of Odessa; two daughters: Heidi Torres of Odessa and La Tonya Arenas (who is with her husband stationed in Germany); one sister: Nita Thomas of Odessa; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard Bjorn Fahlstrom, Sr. and Joan Hetrick Fahlstrom and two brothers: Phillip Fahlstrom and Leonard B. Fahlstrom, Jr.

Cynthia McLean, of Kermit, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born January 23, 1956 to Willie and Garnette (Beckleheimer) Whiddon in Key West, Florida. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son: Corky Guy McLean of Waxahachie, Texas; two daughters: Corinne Lee McLean of San Angelo, Texas and Chastity Lynn McLean of Kermit; one brother: Phillip Dwight Whiddon of Gainsville, Florida; her sister: Sherrie Ann Carter of Kermit; five grandchildren: Robinne, Madison, Dallas, Austin, and Cielbi, all of Kermit; her best friend: Judy Smith of Kermit; friend: Jerry Yietier of Kermit; and the Vegil family of Kermit.
